I am a mixture of old and new school:
Delta Force (yeah, I was the one sniping knifers day in and day out for a 100+ to 1 Kill/Death ratio)
Civilization (ALL of them, but V absolutely kick arse)
Asheron's Call (my first foray into online gaming)
Thief
Mass Effect III
Skyrim (well, all of the Elder Scrolls games, but this one is incredible)
I will add, too, the Wing Commander series. And when Star Citizen officially releases in 2014, every other game will cease to exist. :)
Mass Effect 1-3
Dragon Age (all)
Legend of Legaia
Legend of Dragoon
Final Fantasy VII
Primal
Skyrim
Assassin's Creed 3
Saints Row 2
Maniac Mansion
Diablo II
my top 3 favourite games are currently.
1.stalker shadow of chernobyl
2.The Dead Linger
3.Shattered galaxy
Final Fantasy VI > Final Fantasy VII
Oblivion > Skyrim
Yeah, I'm challenging your opinions! Wanna fight about it?
j/k, but I love getting into arguments over which of these games in their respective series are better.
Nice mention of Maniac Mansion, used to love that game as a kid.
lol... you can tell by the majority of responses in this thread how young people are here.
Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Tales of Symphonia, Heavy Rain, The Walking Dead just to name a few.
Sweet,
Seems like everybody has a wide variety of games. I haven't seen many puzzle games though. Has anybody played "The Room"...wow.
Final Fantasy 8
Suikoden 2
Star Wars Galaxies (RIP)
I really like the original Might and Magic games
as for MMOs I used to really like Asheron's Call 2
Red Alert 2, Age of Empire 2, Call of Duty 2 (they just happen to all be 2 but still :P)
there are i guess still some i could name but i can't come up with them now either way these were allot of fun :)
C&C Generals was awesome aswell... If I had a PC I would definately get it again
Hey Dee Ranged, you wouldnt happen to be part of the AOD clan that played Section 8 are you?
Okay here are my favorite games of all time:
1. Shenmue - One of the most groundbreaking games I've ever played. Still hoping Yu Suzuki finds a way to make Shenmue III so the series can FINALLY have an ending.
2. Mass Effect series - IMO a masterpiece despite the ending to ME3.
3. Skyrim - my first taste of the Elder Scrolls series. Had me literally ADDICTED to the game for months and I got the other games in the series. I have Arena and Daggerfall on my laptop(played some of Arena but it was kind of hard to play it after playing Skyrim)and Morrowind and Oblivion for my 360.
4. Sonic the Hedgehog series - Huge Sonic fanatic
5. Halo series - not just of the games, but of the novels, comics, etc
top 5 fav games have to be
1 Day of defeat
2 Guild wars
3 silent hunter 3
4 battlefield 2
5 the classic pokemon red :)
Everything is better on PC, but not everyone can keep up with system requirements to always have an up to date gaming PC. I'd still be a PC gamer if I knew my investment in a system would last me more than just a year or two of gaming before I had to upgrade like crazy. Just don't have the money or patience to keep up with that stuff and many other gamers are the same. Consoles are just more convenient (and get exclusives from time to time that PC doesn't. Of course it's the other way around more often).
Because my laptop isn't capable of playing a high graphics game like Skyrim. I bought the PC version of GTAIV one time so I could make machinima movies and it wouldn't play. And ATM I don't have the $$$ to buy a graphics card. I bought my laptop primarily for school.
Wasteland and Elite on C64.
On PC :
Mass Effect
Morrowind
Neverwinter Nights
Everquest
Give the game a muffin, Kuro loves muffins.
Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim,
Mass Effect series,
Minecraft + Terraria (Love them both, people can argue which is better among themselves)
Earth Defence Force games (I owe EDF to my Hellbug blasting skillz, yes I do!)
Borderlands 1 + 2
Tenchu Z (Dont judge me, I get to play a custom ninja. >_>)
Sims 3 (For winding down..)
Saints Row 2 + The Third
Aaaand just about anything else I can get my hands on. Depending how curious or bored I am.
Mass Effect 1
Fallout 3 & New Vegas
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy X
Skyrim
Clearly RPGs get me all hot and bothered.
Do me a favor and buy Neverwinter when it comes out. Play it and enjoy it because I won't get to most likely. I almost want to put aside all the money I can just get a PC good enough to run Neverwinter when it comes out. I have so many ideas to use for that game since they will have a way to be a "DM" and craft your own adventures.
1) Final Fantasy IX
2) Zelda - a Link to the past
3) Final Fantasy X
4) League of Legends
5) Gears of War 3
Okay, this is going to date me but favorite of all time:
Skyrim,
Fallout: New Vegas,
and
Sonic the hedgehog
I'm really surprised at all the Skyrim votes.
I mean, it's a great game, but greatest game of all time? It's not even the greatest game in the same series. lol
Hands down E.T. for the atari 2600
Ha, I thought it was the same AOD! Here is a link to the clan's stats page for section 8: prejudice (which, by the way, was an awesome game for an arcade title) http://s8pstats.timegate.com/pc/clan/AOD/ :D Yeah, a few of those guys know my name...lol
Skyrim, great game but even better with mods. Only one word to describe why I like this game and most of the others in the series; sandbox. Er actually one more word: loot! And I can get a house to store all my crap in too. Win.
Pre-CU SWG; to this day, still the best MMO ever...I have played more MMOs than I can could list yet that game still is on top. Why? Best crafting ever, totally player driven economy, and sandbox with player housing. +1 since it's Star Wars. Still play emu now and then. Pity SWToR sucked. :(
GTA series when it went 3ps: it just gets better and better. Also oddly enough...another sandbox like game. Love the humor, the gameplay, the huge cities just to wander around in, and the stories all have been well done. I pray to the game gods every day that V will be on PC at launch. /pray.
Borderlands 1-2: play them, I think you might understand if you are any sort of shooter fan with a wicked sense of humor and love loot like I do.
Diablo 2 LoD: best ARPG still, D3 is not it's successor despite what they say lol.
Enemy Territory (free version SD did): this is the birth of the modern day class/objective based military shooters. I played ET more than I care to admit.
Quake 1-3: pretty much best TF mods (and first!), sorry Valve. <3
Guild Wars 2, still play but not so much. But since all updates are free, I can go back any time. The production values of this game is mind boggling; it's got style, looks gorgeous, and plays smooth too. And it's a real MMO. But I need a co-op shooter so Defiance is it...for now.
Lastly...hate to say it but...WoW: vanilla to WotLK. This sucked 7 years of my life away and I can honestly say I actually enjoyed it up until cata then it just got to old for me. I will say that I think main reason why I played so long was my guild (now deceased) and that no one can beat Blizz when it comes to 'endgame'. Going to level cap is just the beginning, not the end. /puts on flame suit.
