I need REALLY detailed notes on Season Pass and opinions from those who paid for it
Been looking around trying to find some real details on the season pass and dlc. So far they all say the same thing. new playable alien species, new weapons and vehicles, missions, and rewards, plus two bonus items, an exclusive digital Hellbug combat cap and a Lock Box. With this in mind, I want to ask those of you who like me paid the 3200 points (40 dollars) if they think these items are worth that much money.

So for those who have PAID for the season pass, do you believe or have any speculation as to what the dlc will include other than what has been listed and if it justifies the price. Oh and if there is a link someone can post with these details id appreciate it.

I can only offer advice as a Rift player.

Their DLC's and Content Patches are HUGE.

Always have been. Missions. Instances. Huge MAP expansions. New Enemies. Areas. New Rifts(like Arkfalls). New PVP Maps. etc...

That's great to hear. Always love extra content. But I'm wondering what will be released exclusively for those who are paying for dlc content. Don't get my wrong im glad that everyone will be able to share in the dlc so that the community won't get separated. I just wish there was some place I could go to find out more info on this paid dlc. I see some places mentioning a blog that mentioned it but I can't find it. I've been googling "Defiance season pass blog details" but the results show the same info for each page.

As we get closer to DLC time and at least an episode into the show, I'm guessing that more will get known. :)

Game just launched. I'm glad they aren't offering Day 1 DLC.

    xD

i realize it can be confusing.

the company that released this game is "trion worlds" i believe.

they have no publicly stated official position to have "day 1 DLC" available for all their games like Activision/Blizzard and EA.

or the stated official position to have DLC available within 1 month of release due to stopping working on their game 3-5 months prior to release and working on said DLC content rather than bug fixes such as Bethesda.

so far only the big AAA publishers have really bitten big on the DLC bandwagon to make lots of money for little work.

AFAIK Trion Worlds has not done that. only the AAA publishers do.

Agree 100% with what you said.

Trion Worlds has been a great company in my experience.

I don't play Rift anymore, as I played for 2 years straight and need a break! lol.

Trion's CS and Content has been nothing but stellar.

Aside from no fall damage in Rift. xD

One of my clan mates found something that said DLC will be free for the content part so everyone has the same objectives. But the paid version will have the new weapon skins, Playable races, Vehicles, basically most of the cosmetic things that come out that are new you will get if you pay for the DLC.

i recall devs sayign in one of the interviews that major (paid) dlc-s will be 3-4 weeks apart at least + Free DLC-s and patches.

The free access to paid DLC-s is limited but not zero. Id guess that you get no loot, no exp, no goals and no coop - just the main story missions.

You will only pay for things basically seen as extra. I'm pretty sure things like new areas, weapon types (maybe not), and missions will be available for everyone. My question is, with the DLC having a free and paid component, how will we actually download it? Will there be two separate options on the respective platform stores?

This was posted in one of the Dev notes from Day 4. Sounded good enough to me to justify buying the Pass, figure even at 5 DLC for the year (possibly more) thats under $8 each plus you get the hat and a lock box.

-What’s our DLC plan? – I’ve seen a lot of you mention this and this is material for an entire blog post because there is so much I want to talk about. However, let’s be short. There are at least 5 DLCs this year. They all have a free and paid component. We do not want to segregate our playerbase so we always want everybody be able to participate and play with friends. The free part is features and content, the paid part is essentially, say, access to a new playable species with a bundle of stuff with it. The upcoming TV tie-ins aren’t DLCs that cost either. It’s all yours.
