Constructive thread about UI improvements that can do well on PC and Console

So a lot of people are complaining about feeling lonely in a MMO how about we help give suggestions and help the dev's with idea's to make it a better experience.

I would suggest a more FFXI type chat box that doesn't fade. I think they figured out it works well with a controller in hand and keyboard in front of you. Different colors type for the different forms of shouts, tells, and area. Its also stretches the bottom of the screen instead of in a corner and can be customized to where it shows only 1 line at a time or display up to 5 lines of text. With always looking down cross-hairs or driving if its at the bottom of the screen people will always see it. It also doesn't fade so you don't miss out. before each line of text that is said it can have the form of what is being read (Area: Joe says: Anyone selling a Orange Shotgun? clan would look like Clan: Joe says: Hey guys whats up?) it could also be built in to give us keyboard short cuts like /area or /clan allows us to type quickly to people.

These are all just thoughts and directions I hope the UI goes towards especially with FFXI being the first MMO cross platform on Ps2, Xbox 360, and PC its simple and works really well.

P.S. No flaming please a game lives and dies by two things content and community.

I agree the only main problem I have is with the chat box which as most MMO players know can be essential for clans. This is my only real gripe at the moment.

I was thinking the same thing, all these players online, but no one is communicating. Can't say I blame them though, the chat on the console version is a huge PITA.

Yeah but it can be simply fixed with out trying to through out the programming already done for it the UI and chat box now.

I, too, would like a larger chat window. However, if the rewards and items do not show up there I couldn't care less.

That is another thing on FFXI UI the awards showed up in text scroll saying what you got.
