1.) Sniper Rifles have a close to 100% accuracy
2.) The "random accuracy" actually is not random, but due to a missmatch of actual aiming point and displayed aiming point of scope-attachments.

=> Don't add any scope attachment until this issue is fixed.
When you play with your standard scope you'll notice that ( at least for bolt action rifles) the accuracy is perfectly fine.

I haven't played in a while. Never had a problem with sniper rifles scoped or otherwise prior to about two/three weeks ago. Jumped back in for a bit again tonight and something is clearly wrong here. Accuracy was all over the place. Without moving the reticule, it would go from hitting dead on where it was pointing to wildly off center. Accuracy was comparable to firing from the hip. It's bad enough that I went from almost using bolt/semiauto exclusively to removing both from my loadout because they're too unpredictable to use. I've been using semi-auto assault rifles to fill the gap.

I've only ever had latency issues while sniping. Some enemies have helmets, i dont know if that affects headshots but it's a thought. All my rifles fire true though, as long as there's not lag. I've had a few headshots that i think should have crit but didnt, but i've attributed that to the enemy having a helmet or something, but again, no idea if that affects it at all.

This has already been mention in this thread, but to reiterate, the crit boxes don't always match the animation thus might give the impression of lack of accuracy. I too try to aim at the throat or the base of the skull for better results (especially for afar).

I have the same rifles, one is a modded orange legendary the others are green, blue, and purples. Unmodded is way more accurate.

Yup, I no longer equip scopes after noticing that I can get 100% headshots unscoped. Ridiclous.

If you don't want to trust me, you can confirm this yourself by buying any two shotguns with differing accuracy stats and looking at the cone of fire yourself. The difference going from a 7.0 accuracy shotty VS a 20 accuracy shotty is staggering.

The Accuracy stat seems different for shotguns and sniper rifles. Go find a wall and check it out. The wall won't have latency issues or hit box issues. Pick a spot on the wall, aim and shoot. Keeping your finger on the aim, look and see if the shot lines up with the center dot on the scope. I have a legendary Quick Repeater with a -0.30 Accuracy and it will consistently shoot 1/4" low two out of three shots. Now get up closer and try it with a shotgun with a -0.30 Accuracy. It actually helps the shotgun. Strange stuff.

Certainly the scope for me. I removed the mod from the scope slot, and my sniper accuracy improved enormously.

Ahh yeah, i've been EXCLUSIVELY using the Frontier Repeater bolt action sniper rifle from Top Notch Toolworks because it has the highest damage, magazine and crit multiplier. It doesn't have a scope mod so I haven't noticed this I don't put a scope on it.
I was wondering why this thread wasn't making any sense until i got to the part about modded scopes.
