Well guess what.. by the time he gets close enough to hit me with one of those shots, he's dead.
If he does get close enough and you start tumbling.. he's probably going to miss.
If you're consistently running into the thick of the battle, that's your problem.. that's where the shotguns will be. The maps are decently small... but you still have room to move and set up shop somewhere.
I still use shotguns occasionally, but I have to get me one of those infector guns... gawd dayum those things are deadly.
