    Drop the awful combat music.
It just doesn't fit in with the style--

I watched the trailer 2 just now and the American West soundtrack fits the style like a glove. I really think the atmosphere of the game would be improved immeasurably with a stronger western theme to the music, I know we have a bit on the title screen, but some in game would be fantastic. Classic Western stand-off guitar

You can turn combat music off if you don't like it. I highly enjoy when the combat music is pumping while I'm vendoring items.

I too go to SF all the time to get the music going, and just afk listening to it. So enjoyable!

My problem with the combat music is that once it starts it doesn't ever seem to want to stop, whether I'm in combat or not and it just gradually drives me nuts. So I've turned it off altogether.

I like the idea of combat music, but I just think it isn't right for the game being some kind of electronic metal.

You guys should appreciate that you even have combat music, console version is complete silence and its really lame. So bad they sell you a soundtrack to the game and it doesn't even have any music playing in it.

I was just going to post 'what combat music'?

Hmm when will the console get this? I really think the game needs something like this.

Well, clearly the music was a bit of an afterthought. The fact that it doesn't even play on consoles is pretty telling, although I didn't know that until reading this thread.

There are some games where I just turn off the game music and throw up Winamp in the background. This is definitely one of those games.

In any event, I would love to see some new/improved combat music (and a fix to the looping), definitely helps with the immersion factor, but it's whatever. I don't have a problem with just playing my own at the end of the day.

I don't feel like we hear the music enough. I love the soundtrack cd, but I don't feel like I hear it enough in game.

I quite like the music, to the point I regularly listen to the Soundtrack :) I like that every enemy group has their own theme tune in a slightly different style, so Raiders get a far harder, faster paced sound than the likes of the 99ers who have twangs of a more western-style, or the Hellbugs who have quite rough sound with lots of strings.

I have to admit I don't notice it as much in game though.

I like to pay attention to music in games and make some videos of good stuff I hear. I liked the combat music in Defiance but from what I can tell, it's only one of the only two tracks in the entire game at the moment.

There is the ambient non-combat and then the in-combat music. A bit disappointing if that is the case.

Combat music on endless loop. They really need to fix that sh*t. It makes my ears bleed after a few hours.

I really like all the music in Defiance so far, but I do agree that they really have to turn the combat music off when the combat actually ends

Same. Turned it off completely, which is a bit of a shame as I like the idea that the combat music stops to confirm I'm out of combat.

Never heard music in this game, lol.

    PC only I think.

I agree with OP. It just does not fit for this game and it also sounds horrible. It keeps repeating when it starts until you log off also

Enjoy the combat music. I'm on PS3 and you get no music at all during combat. I only get a loop of a boring almost silent music track when I'm in a quiet area selling gear to a shop.

I like the music but man I hate when I get that bug and it just wont shut off.

I love the combat music. I dont have problem with the variety. The thing i have problem with: It plays no matter what i do. Once it starts, even a Hunter Class Dark Monolith Mech couldnt annihilate it.

It would be nice if it would only play during the time my character is in combat. That would be awesome.

That would be nice, but the only music I've heard is the strip club-esque BUM BUM BUM from the video posted on page 2 of the thread.

I finally gave up and turned it off after trying to put up with it for a couple of weeks.

What kind of strip clubs are you visiting? O___o
And 'a couple of weeks' is put nicely, considering the game is 3 weeks old.

    Music is awsome.
Fits the game well, the bug where it doesn't stop can be a little bit annoying at times.

The music's hit and miss for me. I'd rather have the option to select my own tracks so I could have an Unreal Tournament combat music configuration.

Like in GW2. A Two Steps from Hell soundtrack made that game far more epic than piddly Jeremy Soule.

Turned it off, I detest techno wub wub music. Especially the type that continues to loop and will not shut off.

I turned it off, not because I don't like the genre of music which I actually do but because the music itself is repetitive and boring. I've been listening to Jack Trammell in the background.

I vote for them to switch the battle music to Radioactive by Imagine Dragons ;)

IMO music isn't very great but I don't mind it but what really annoys me is when combat finishes you are stuck with combat music for next half of an hour no matter what you do....

The combat music needs to stop looping and it needs more variations or at least set it up so we can drop in our own music.
