I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I've been playing for about a week and haven't encountered any issues at all. Literally, not a single problem. I get 60 silky smooth frames even routed through a VPN.

I've seen games that still hadn't patched some launch day bugs 10 years later. No explanation, no apologies and no action.
Kudos to TW for getting on things fairly quickly and providing regular updates on what they are fixing, with a trace of humour no less and no "if you don't like it go write your own bloody game" attitude :D
I still don't understand why people who can't deal with issues at launch buy games as soon as they come out. I mean, I feel bad you're having issues buddy, I can't log in at the moment myself due to a patch error, but this is to be expected for mmo launches simply due to the scope; games and software are a lot more complex than cheeseburgers, and require a little patience to get things running perfectly. In the grand scheme of things there aren't that many complaints on this forum compared to most games I see, and may well constitute less than 1% of the playerbase, which they are working on fixing and have been pretty good with communicating to the community. They'll get the problems sorted out, try not to let it ruin your day.
Do you EVEN read the developer blogs?
This has been done.

I found out there is a way to get an apology, but the person who demands it needs to go on their knees and smile like a doughnut in front of the devs
Anyone remember WoW launch? I do. It took a full 3 months before they had things figured out. I ended up being a 7 year player on one of the best MMO's ever released for sheer playability, with one of the WORST launches ever for an online game.
Then there was SWTOR, which had one of the most seamless launches of an online game and it took them less than a year to drive it into the ground with one of the WORST FTP options ever conceived. Star Wars fans the world over are still crying about that and SWTOR is destined for the trash compactor in the not too distant future.
Defiance? Well, I'm still waiting for my digital copy to download. ;) We'll see how it rates.
Ever Play Age of Conan, its still beta IMHO
