My thoughts on this... I'm not surprised that it's taking this long, but it makes it no less annoying. It's like when a movie releases a teaser trailer YEARS before the movie comes out... but on a smaller scale. The use of the s word implies something different to everyone. The only reason I haven't started getting anxious is that I remember pre-ordering Duke Nukem Forever and how long it took for the guaranteed-with-preorder demo... Even longer for the guys who got their access from buying Borderlands... And when it finally came out, it was kinda crap. I'm pretty sure this beta will be a lot better, but much the same, just giving a "s**n" for a pre-order beta that far in advance is asking for some players to get upset. My recommendation would have been to have a date announced from the beginning. If it's really late, at least you don't have people whining in your forums.
