No Refunds for Game. No matter what.
After a few days of emails (to see what was going on) the chat finally worked today and I got through to Trion about my 360 game. I managed to log in the first day but hadn't managed to since then due to server errors and updates. I requested a refund and was told that I had to return my opened game to the retailer. Granted, no retailer takes any opened game back. I understand the retailer side on this one because the product they sold was functioning, but there needs to be some flex room on the server side. When a company puts out a product that clearly was not working (even if only in select cases) there needs to be a refund policy. I wanted a game I could enjoy in the evenings and unwind but I found myself playing Fifa after spending 30 mins of logging in and waiting to get online to always get the Service is Down screen.

I was told that since I had not purchased it directly from Trion Worlds (honestly, who buys their games from the companies?) there could be no refund. So they would get to keep the cash for a game I could not play.

I understand this is going to be jumped on by people who will say the same thing about it being an MMO and you have to wait, but I didn't buy a game and install it before the servers came online to get 4 hours of gameplay the first day and no more for the next week.

Just let it be known that if the servers go down for weeks or if something goes wrong it will be Trion's practice to say it was your fault for being excited about the game.

understandable man. theyve done some pretty crappy things although people love worshipping them for "letting us know what's going on." we know what the hell is going on, and their priorities are messed up, and it's ridiculous they can't even get the servers running for everyone. but whatever, i want to say it is what it is, but for some people that means theyre out a lot of money. I'm bummed that after a week of playtime (not even spending endless hours a day) I have basically nothing left to do in the game, and I'm barely ego 500. so what, I can just grind for the next week trying to get that one orange weapon ? too bad nothing I do in the game rewards me. There's no loot in instances, you barely get crap for doing side quests or anything else, and mobs drop maybe 2 scrip. So after doing over 100 side missions, I have MAYBE 10,000 scrip? It's great.

TL: DR - I'm sorry. I hear for you. Trion makes me mad and I don't believe I'll be supporting them in the future.

if you understand people will say its an mmo...
then you know your in the wrong. it is common practice for mmo's to launch sloppy, NO ONE expects a smooth launch from an mmo. if you do not have the patience to put up with it, wait a month and THEN get the game. if you at that point are still having problems, you have a right to complain.

temper your excitement with reality; the rest of us adults did.

There are a lot of gamers right now that are starting to get into the mindset of "buy it, try it, refund it."

That does not work. If you have no patience for an online game that has servers then stop buying online games. It's your mistake and you should learn from it instead of repeating it.

I for one love this game so much that if I had to wait a week to play it, even now, i would still be happy to wait that as long as I got to play it again some time in the future. It is that good.

So I'm sorry if I don't understand what your problem is fully, you have fun dealing with it. I don't think they're going to bow down to your every need when you're in the "refunder" club.

Try asking them for compensation, like a few in game bits (money) to spend or something. I'm sure that is something they can appreciate and maybe even consider offering. But demanding a refund just shows who you are.

It doesn't matter if it is an MMO or a Board Game. The man bought a product that is not working as advertised. I think he should get a FULL refund and an apology.

Putting aside the whole idea of you not understanding what kind of game you bought, why exactly would you buy a game in one place, then try to get a refund from another? O.o

Let it be known that refunds generally come from the place where you spent your money, if you get a refund at all.

I'd tell you to send me your game so I could give it to a friend, because I love it and want more of my friends to try it, but I don't know anyone who has a 360 anymore.

this is ignorant for the sheer fact that this game is not an MMO. it's a decently sized open world 3rd person online only shooter. It is hardly an MMO in any of the ways that ever make a game an MMO ( and no, not just MMORPG's). So hiding behind the fact of "oh well, it's an MMO so it has a bad launch" is just foolish. I think they tried to get both PC and console gamers excited by enticing console gamers with a console oriented "MMO" and telling the PC MMO players that they have a new sort of idea, but this sir, is in fact NOT an MMO. So, your argument is invalid. but good job "adult."

    You still cant play?

Sorry but I think its on your end somewhere. I have 10 friends playing this pretty regularly and the past three days other the random disconnects at times and server downtime we all have been able to log in whenever we want.

Youre internet setup could be the culprit, things like your nat or various other things because as far as I know the 360 version has been running well enough that you saying you still cant evrn play seems more like someone disappointed in the game or is upset due to reasonable issues regarding connectivity and wants a refund.

haha yes, demanding a refund when you can't use the product shows what a terrible immature human being you are. Get off your high horse.

If you buy a car, and expect to be able to drive it, and it wont start up for an entire week, and you can't take it anywhere, then you want your money back. you're not a fool for buying a new car and expecting it to work, and you're not an entitled brat. You're simply a human being that put your money and faith into a product that let you down, and you feel betrayed. This sort of interaction is what garners brand loyalty and why some companies fail and others are extremely successful, because of how the consumer responds to them.

    Go preach elsewhere fanboy.

Not to be a know it all but when theres 100 guys at an Arkfall thats abput as Massive Multiplayer Online as you can get.

I would agree it really lacks for anything besides the Arkfalls and random world encounters that is MMO but it is one.
