true, GW2 showed the way to made a balanced PVP
Printable View
And yet last time I checked GW2 forums ppl cried about something op or up in every single forum section.
Though I agree that a system similar to GW2 would be better. Or to make it simple, A weapon of each type to pick from. With fixed numbers that can be buffed or nerfed as needed. If you want further set bonuses simply put them on the Shield and then you can pick your Shield that fits you best.
honestly everything is fine it's just cloak shotguns and infectors are just so far above the rest it isn't worth using anything else, sub machineguns would be great if shotguns weren't OP, same with AR's and stuff.
the rockets and grenade launchers need to be weak or else it's all people will use so they are fine.
I don't mind them balancing PVP and how weapons preform in PVP, just dont want them to do what they did in Rift and nerf stuff for both, ruining pve balance. If you want to nerf shotguns do it only against players or whatever.
So, you are saying anything that is long distance range weapon should indeed be more powerful then a gun that doesn't? You lose something of course you should gain something back. Yes, I am talking about shotgun. I don't get how a weapon sniper almost little to no effect is OK. But for shotgun user, some one has to find a way to get to you and dodge any other stuff to get to you, isn't ok. You are just crying that people could sneak up to you and kill you. I am not sure how high is you ego. maybe you need to get it higher to use some defensive perks.
in any mmo there are guns that blow that nobody uses ever again once they find something better.
Recap, you are in idiot. Shotguns are fine, cause they have ZERO range. They have such high damage, because they need to break your hitpoints in one shot and if you are even 10m away you only get hit with a portion of the spread. In fact, the high damage is not much difference then real life and history or a video gamer (gamers go with highest hitpoints to survive a hit, biggest gun to counter the other player's hitpoints)....battleships, tanks, body armor were created with thicker armor to counter a weapon and to counter that bigger armor bigger weapons where created (or in case of the body armor, armor piercing). If a tank or battleship had 200m of armor, a bigger shell was used to penetrate it (which, if history is recalled properly the Japanese battleship Yamato had 18.1 inch or 40cm guns firing 3,000 lbs or 1300kg shells....sorry if that is not different then a OP shotgun to you, but you would probably one of those dudes who whined those massive guns where OP should you have lived back during WWII). So yeah, the highest damage numbers will always win.
And to break it down further, video games have devolved to the highest hitpoint buffer with the biggest gun. You get the biggest buffer you can get and the most powerful gun you can get. AKA, the shotty. So, it is in fact working...a player wants to win and you feel cheated because you are the only one of several who feel "cheated" because someone else isn't using a weapon that isn't a shotgun. As for the cloak, it could use a tweak and combined with jumping...its only natural for a player to take the most mobililty they can get....Abrams tanks with Stealth Technology anyone? Natural human/player evolution...to win, you lost, so shut up and stop whining about it.
I feel like im the only one who consider Shadow War to be PvP as well - but that cant be true, there's 63 other people in a Shadow War, and I'm pretty damn sure I saw A s0t on earlier today.
