Defiance 2050 won't run.

Critical: The Defiance service is not available. Please Try Again Later.
After about 30-45 minutes of troubleshooting including:

Checking for maintenance
Redownloading Defiance 2050
Adding Defiance 2050 to my firewall exceptions
Disabling my firewall

I had decided to install it on an alt account on my dad's laptop, he was able to play perfectly.
After this, I just decided to ask for help on the forums.
Is there anything else I should try before giving up on this and never playing defiance 2050?
