A Hotfix is not a Patch, A hotfix is something changed on the server itself that is synced to the game every time the game is started. There wont be a patch to download during hotfixes and this does not effect the version of the game. Reinstalling should have no effect as this is a server based issue and this does not keep a player from logging into the game with a different account on the same system. The founders pack is also not a download, it is concidered a service on PS4 which is tied to the PSN account as a sort of unlock key for content. A service cannot be deleted as its not something that is ever installed on the system. I just want to clarify information for those trying out different things or looking for a solution.

Yes yes, good to see me. I know (jk). I have listed Trove PS4 which I’ve never played. I have Defiance PS3 and I have a blank slot. That’s it.

Side note: I got 16k Valor. It’s not 80k or anything but good enough I suppose.

I am going to unlink my blank slot and see if anything happens. Wanted to say I was going to here just in case it causes more fires.

So ive been playing today no problem then i had to log out and i cant log back in im getting the "Critical" Error..... :(

Hows it going, this is the only other issue I am noticing that many are having the same issues with. There seems to be a lot of enemy lag int he game that makes it weird and not sure if I am doing any damage to them. Adding a video to show what I mean.

For those messing with unlinking: you'll likely not be able to unlink the PS4 or the 'blank' spot entry you have and I wouldn't try unlinking your PS3 acct unless you've already got your items and/or spent your valor (and in case your 2050 character needs to be to deleted, I'd still not do it). Just FYI

Edit: If anyone DOES unlink their PS3 Acct, let us know what happens :/

Unrelated: my Valor is linked to my Xbox 360 account and when I unlinked my "PS3 Defiance" I could log in, but now my PS4 account is "orphaned" and when I finally could get in, no Valor and no old items.

Oh lord. That's so cobbled together. I mean it's awesome that the items and valor are cross-platform but as long as you didn't unlink your main Defi account i would assume they could be recoverable. But that tears it. UNLINK NOTHING. Not until we get an official response.

Note: Destromathe did respond and ask if I could unlink my PS4 account but as we've descovered, it's a no go. I think because I already received my items? Dunno. Still, lets not mess with it. I'm so sorry that made it worse! >_<

Edit: Actually that makes a weird kind of sense that they'd have to link your acct to PSN somehow. Still, something's wrong obviously because something is making it kick us, and why would they need PS3 AND PS4. I know its all considered PSN but... UG. I can't even.

Recovered everything before trying so I think/hope I will be ok. The need to shoot and loot is so bad I am watching streamers for a game that I own and cannot play. Whatever this is fun too.

Lucent, according to that post you linked, Glyph support said that the Valor was calculated and applied/issued by an automated system. To do this efficiently (read: quickly) they obviously just linked up all the consoles with each other. So for people who have only ever linked their Sony products, the blank one is probably the xbox link up. For people who have linked an xbox, they'll see xbox/ps3/ps4. What I don't understand is why it says Trove. Is that Trions only PS3/PS4 title?

I was able to play from Friday night but got hit with the login issues a lot of other players are experiencing after my game locked/froze. I'm on Ps4 now.

There was a critical error message affecting some PS4 NA players during Head Start that was caused by account linking related issues.

- If you were a PS4 NA Founder and could not log in before, please try to play again now.
- Account based transfers from original Defiance have been temporarily turned off for PS4 for players who have not received them yet. This is a temporary resolution while we work on a more comprehensive fix in the future.
- Compensation is being discussed as we continue to work on a better fix.

I purchased the class founders pack on Friday on Ps4 and tried connecting all weekend with failed login attempt. I just tried to login right now for the heck of it again and success, I was able to login for the first time.

I was able to login successful and create a character, thank you very much Trion team. I know we were frustrated and must of been a really bad problem if it took you that long to find it. I can happily speak for all the ones that are now able to login in, Thank you!

For now, they have disabled account link, I got an email saying as much, they are looking into the problem and will be addressing it later, but for now we can finally play! Hoorah

Ty for ending the 64 or so hour error I'm on but when you get a chance please look at my valor or please tell us the math of the valor please ty I'm going to play now weeeeee

Guess I'll have to check when I get home from work today, I was sleeping when this was posted at 11:43 pm.

Because it definitely wasn't letting me log in when I tried numerous times Sunday afternoon/evening.

I am unable to get beyond character creation. After the movie plays and pod gets launched, it goes to a loading screen and than says:
Critical
Your Connection to the DEFIANCE servers has timed out.

Unable to connect due to critical time out every time i try and get past the first cut scene

Critical time out every 5 min

Not sure how we are supposed to know if the game is good or not. PS4 EU critical time out when trying to get to character select.

Exactly what is causing this lost character or stuck in limbo bug causing so many to be stuck waiting on a reply or acknowledgement that have paid for he game only to never have any response? I really love the game but I have no idea when or how often y’all restart the servers and I would hope this is in the works to be fixed. Would love a response please

I was playing fine for a hour then i went to fast travel to the military outpost in beginning( forgot the actual name) and tried to summon my runner but it never showed up so decided to just run to my destination and then i got a critical server disconnect. I cant seem to log on now as when i try to select my character it just disconnects again. I've always like defiance and was glad it came to ps4 since my pc burned out.
