"hell of a day" quest reset.. could not complete

So it is showing that I still need to complete the quest.. I think the quest is bugged because when I had to go get McNeil he was targeted to be inside the house and then he appeared on the outside. Completed all the parts where he went to search for his equipment, brought him back to the farm area and it said completed but it is still showing a need to complete it .. yellow circle disappeared after I walked away and it is now a grey circle on the map. Thanks
