Biography:
"X" was only a toddler when the Votan had arrived.
When he was a child the Human and the Votan had turned from possible allies, to bitter enemies, the war was upon us all. The family went about their business, avoiding the war and trying to live life as normally as possible. Until recruitment started showing up at their door... that's when his father was taken away to serve in the defense of Earth, or that's what his mother had told him. "X" constantly asked after his father, and his mother always fed him the same lines, "Daddy's needed", "He's going to be just fine, I'm sure he'll get in touch with us soon", "Always remember, mommy and daddy love you".... They were the perfect lines to settle a child down, until they got word that 'Daddy' had been killed in a Votan raid, and though he took many with him, in the end he was killed.
"X's" father was a crack shot, and had the reputation of a hero in prior conflicts, his mother was a skilled nurse and experienced triage medic. Almost the perfect combatant couple on the surface, they had some serious marital issues, causing "X" to grow up feeling isolated and angry, the eventual death of his father only increased these feelings. "X" took to pushing all others away in favor of one of his dad's rifles. One thing his old man was able to pass on before he left to fight, and that was his skill in shooting.
Though "X" was young his father felt is necessary that he know the inner workings of a rifle. How to clean it, load it, sight it in, and how to properly shoot it. Being so young, he hadn't had the opportunity to fire a rifle on his own, he'd only watched his dad. Figuring "no time like the present" 'X' posted up where his father had showed him how to work a gun. Laying where his dad had, his took aim and fired.
*BANG*
2 inches left of dead center at 400 yards, the old man kept his rifles in perfect condition. Firing off a small volley of controlled shots, "X" kept his bullet cluster within 3 inches. All he kept thinking was "Dad was better."
That is how his childhood went. Few friends, withdrawn, and very accurate with a gun.
His mother passed when he was fourteen, she had become a chain-smoker, drank more than her fair share of alcohol... her liver failed. Her death wasn't as much of a surprise to him as his father's was. He and his mother didn't get along.... they didn't talk... but he could see her slowly killing herself with her vices. By this point he had become so detached that it actually didn't bother him as much as he thought it would. That fact alone chilled him.
With no known relatives and a fairly limited skill set, "X" enlisted under a false name and age. He was able to pass the physical requirements by a slim margin, but when it came time to qualify with a rifle, well, its a given that he stood out.
His service record is riddled with accounts of deadly precision, lethal efficiency, and on more than one account, he was described as "numb" and "emotionless" by his commanding officers and squad mates.
During a covert mission, "X" was abandoned when the operation went sour, presumed dead by his squad. Taking this as an opportunity for a change, "X" decided to branch away from the armed forces and make his way on his own.
((A fairly rough Biography, but it gets the gist of the character, and the feel him across. I look forward to playing him in game should I find a good RP guild))
