Character Biographies

I thought, for those interested, I might make a thread for people who like to write some background for their character. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but it helps me immerse myself in the game and setting. So I thought I'd start this off with my own little biography. Feel free to add your own :)

Background

Gene Deimosa was born to Leo and Sophia Deimosa in Illinois shortly after the pale wars began. Having fled to New York, Sophia went into labor but unfortunately died due to complications during Gene's birth. Gene's father was distraught and forever after rather than embracing Gene as the lasting memory of Sophia he only resented her and eventually abandoned her never to see her again.

For the most part Gene was brought up by her grand parents Irene and Leto Deimosa. Due to the wars and the eventual Terra forming, Gene had a hard childhood and had to adapt quickly to the changing world circumstances. Close to 20 her grandfather died of an illness leaving only her grandmother, but she was a strong and intelligent woman and knew that one day Gene would have to make her own path in the world.

After insuring her grandmother was well taken care of, Gene set off in search of work, returning to Illinois she heard that there was work to be found to the south in what was once St Louis, now known as Defiance. There she found work with Von Bach Industries, which has lead her to exploring the area that was once San Francisco.


Relations with other species

Gene holds no grudges against the aliens, through her grandmother she grew to understand why the aliens had come to Earth and realised there was very little choice in the matter. As such she treats them like any other person, although she's not without making quips depending on someones species.

This is really great and awesome bio but you might want to hold of on posting your characters name, just in case someone grabs it in game.

I like this idea very much, though I will echo what has already been said. Keep your name's secret because it may get stolen. Whether it's from someone who can't come up with a good name for their character or someone who just wants to troll for no reason, it's best to keep it hidden to avoid any such outcomes.

I wouldn't worry about imagination Phoenix, mine isn't that imaginative imo, it's just to give my character some flavor, the real story will happen in game I guess.

I'm not locked into the name tbh and I have several alternatives in mind, so this can just act as a place holder for the time being :)

Biography:
*name* is the daughter to a pair of biological research scientists at Von Bach Industries, who had immigrated to the United States from China. It was rare that she saw both of her parents at once, living in the care of her uncle instead, an ex-soldier who left the military a few years after the Votans landed due to conflicts with his superiors. She grew up learning to speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English, though Cantonese remained her primary and strongest language. She also went to an American school, learning the normal school curriculum, though she excelled in the sciences, biology in particular due to a curious and childish infatuation with her parents' work, mostly born out of ignorance. She viewed all species and all races equally, maintaining her innocence through her early childhood.

The Pale Wars tore her parents away from her even more. The fighting saw them working extra as the terraformations changed the face of the planet and often saw *name* and her uncle moving from place to place. Their home resided in one of the cities that was lost to the global phenomenon and so they became homeless, though it only really affected *name* and, to a lesser extent, her uncle as her parents were working most of the time and sleeping at their workplace on the floor. Towards the end of the war, a message was delivered to *name* through her uncle, informing them that her parents had died. Now homeless and an orphan, *name*'s childish innocence was taken out and crushed in front of her. By the time *name* had turned twelve, the Pale Wars had ended.

Her uncle continued to take care of her and raised her as if she was his own daughter, working odd jobs in construction to feed himself and *name*. The two never settled and as *name* went into her teen years, it fell to her uncle to teach her or at least provide the means for her to teach herself. She spent her time when her uncle had to work on a construction site studying biology, chemistry and physics as best she could, really excelling further though her progress was stunted by the lack of any formal education. As she matured her uncle taught her the life lessons that he deemed would be important to her in this new world. He taught her all of the military skills that he had picked up, teaching her how to operate firearms safely, basic first aid, marksmanship principles, hand to hand combat and, most importantly, how to avoid fighting given that her physical frame was small and she was far from physically imposing. He also taught her what he could about personal social and health education including drugs, alcohol and sex education, though the latter was a difficult subject for him to teach to a girl. He also taught her a few, custom subjects as she grew up such as how men think and how to trick them, how women think and how to trick them, as well as how to drive both two wheeled and four wheeled vehicles. He got the insignia of his old military unit tattooed onto *name*'s right arm for her twenty first birthday, having the image placed near her shoulder, seeing her as a better soldier than some of the men he had served with and disagreed with, though this was likely a biased view on the situation.

Later in that year, however, her uncle was brutally killed in front of her by a band of marauding bandits who raided a construction site that he was working at, crushing whatever innocence was left inside her and she was taken as a prisoner, though she was more like a trophy to the bandits who captured her than any prisoner. She was in captivity for a total of three years. For those three years, the bandits did terrible things to her, made her wish she was dead. They worked her to exhaustion, frequently beat her and sometimes did worse. Her torment was ended at the age of twenty four when a mercenary force attacked and defeated the bandits, setting her and the other captives free. When asked where she was taken from, she had nothing to tell them and requested to join the mercenary band. Having taken heavy losses in their battle against the bandits, paired with her skill set led to her being accepted into the mercenary group, named The Ascension Union (ASCU), where she worked up until the present. She was not the only one, however, noticing a fellow captive also join ASCU, a rather small young woman with red hair and blue eyes had also joined up with the group. As soon as she heard about Von Bach Industries and their new EGO technology, she immediately showed her interest in acquiring it.

She now works as an Ark hunter for ASCU and through them, VBI, operating in the Bay Area. She is often seen dressed in loose fitting clothing of an arid shade, with short sleeves and gloves that leave her forearms exposed. Her weapons of choice are a long range, bolt action rifle and a compact sidearm, even when providing medical support, having some emotional attachment to her weaponry. Her experiences have left her jaded and cynical, slow to trust, but utterly loyal to those who gain that trust. Since joining the mercenary outfit, she has acquired a VBI logo tattooed onto her right hand, and a thorny, vine-like pattern tattoo on her left arm, culminating in a rose on the back of her left hand.

From the beginning Bio
Matthew was born july 22nd of 2229, born in The United States of America to his Mother and Father who originated in England, His father was a Member of the staff at the British Embassy in the US and His Mother was one of the many assistants to the Senior Ambassadors, Matt had hazel eyes and brown hair.

August of 2033 an evacuation of the Embassy was ordered, His parents, himself three years old at the time, two mechanics and three guards and a teacher left in the 2nd to the back vehicle of the column, they where about halfway to there destination when the earth began to shake. Matt could see two vehicles forwards there seemed to be a group of men in white coats handling some sort of blue rock. Suddenly the Earth itself erupted out burst creatures covered in razor sharp appendage. The vehicle in front of the overturned and flew off the side of the road then all in there vehicle could see, these insect like creatures ripped the vehicle roof open with ease, and dragged out the people inside the car and took the blue rock away. More bugs began to swarm the other vehicles in the column. There driver took quick action and floored it off into the wilderness, before anyone could even react to what just happened, everyone inside was shaken and confused, He found his mother holding him incredibly tight against her chest and the smell of perspiration filled the vehicle. Maybe a about 50 miles later the vehicle gave out, its suspension destroyed and fragmented.

Everyone agreed the would have to leave the Vehicle taking the supplies that where packed in the vehicle, The guards seemed uneasy holding there weapons with safety's off at the ready, My father took a case from the vehicle and popped out an Bolt action rifle, The mechanics salvaged what they could from the Vehicle and we all headed off into the wilderness. My mother holding my hand tight and keeping me close to her so I wouldn't be out of her sight.

What had felt like ages later, we came across a house in the forest it was a wood hut of what one of the guards said was most likely a mountain man in this area.

We took the curtsy to knock at the door there was no answer, so the guards went in first with everyone else close behind, not long after we had gone through the whole building it was empty and quiet, everyone took to making camp inside the houses living room trying to find somewhere to settle in, in till we believed no one lived here.

It was dark late at night when I and the others where woken up by the door swinging open, a Bearded man had come in brandishing a shotgun and a torch taped to the bottom of it, the light blinded my vision as he swung round his gun in the room.

He shouted in a deep ancient voice "who the hell are you and why are you in my house"

The guard who was on watch out, was in the centre of the man's view, he told his colleges not to try anything while he took to trying to explain the situation to the man.

Years past 10 to be exact everyone was still hanging in there just about, we had founded are own small little community and where living off the land and keeping are selves alive, we had tried contacting others but we could get nothing it seemed like there had be a complete communication black out. My mother said it was my birthday and every year it had seemed to bring are community together the fact a child could still be happy in what was a horrible world with alien flora and fauna everywhere mixed in with are own.

As a surprise the Old man, my father and the head guard took me out hunting, so I could learn the ways to survive, it was late afternoon when I was given the chance to try to kill my first deer, we had, had a successful hunt so far and luck seemed to be everywhere for us, My father passed me the rifle and the others waited as my father explained to me what to do

He said "breath in and hold your breath and try to shoot in between the beats of your heart".

I listened to his instructions, took aim breathed in and fired it felt like slow motion, the deer hit the ground and we all slowly approached the creature.

When we reached it, it was still breathing the bullet had gone through its hind legs taking it down, The old man held out his knife and said "its your kill lad, put it out of its misery"

I slowly took hold of the knife and slit the creatures throat along its jugular vein.

We returned that evening with are catch and the community feasted, I had gained much knowledge from my superiors it was a perfect community, I had learned skills that would help us, I learned first aid from my mother who would treat the wounds the others sustained, The Old man showed me how to identify edible and useful fauna and flora, My father and the old man taught me how to shoot, The head guard a war veteran taught me the use of a combat blade for close quarters fighting, the mechanics taught me how to repair the Old man's quad bikes and snowmobiles.

But a perfect environment had to end at some point. Just over a year later, The old man came back with a blue rock, no one recognised it but I, it was seared into the back on my brain that day when the bugs came.

That night I couldn't sleep, I was right to be worried, it was at its darkest point when they attacked, most of the group where cut down before they could even go for a weapon, My parents and I made a run for it and one of the guards, the other two where to busy fighting the bugs to run and the old man was to busy shooting at them and shouting about it is his land at the bugs like they could understand, my father carried his rifle under his arm and the guard ran with his assault rifle, I ran alongside each other.

The next morning the events had seemed like a blur it was so sudden, us who had escaped sat in a tree.

It was about a week later before we noticed anything was wrong with the guard, he had been wounded in the escape and had neglected his wound, not long later he perished from an infection.

Now it was just the three of us. Me and my Mother and Father, wondering the wastes.

A few months passed before we saw another bug we where crossing a hilly area, It attacked out of no where the bugger rushed my father cutting him down with its scything talons in an instance, before charging my mother and leaping towards her, she struck it out of the air, but not before it had struck her with one of its talons, The bug went flying of the edge of the cliff and plummeted down to somewhere below.

Me and My mother where with my father for his final moments, he handed me his rifle and gave my mother a kiss on the cheek before passing on. we spent the rest of the day putting my father to rest burying him in the earth.

Not long after that a couple of days at least, my mother became to weak to go anywhere from her wound and grief as she died she gave me her necklace, it was silver with a dove holding an olive branch in the centre of it, she told me to wear it and she would always watch over me, I put it on before she past away, I kissed her on the forehead and closed her eyes, a tear ran down my face. I had to bury my mother body alone. I said my final farewells and left into the wilderness. and I promised myself I would kill the bug that killed everyone I cared about.

I survived a cycle of world, winter was hard food was scarce it was early spring when I heard gunfire in the distance.

I tracked to sound towards its source, it was in a valley.

I saw huge bug with a large scar across its face chasing a woman in what looked like the clothes made of fabric compared to my tanned hide clothing, She had red hair down tied back in a knot, she occasionally as she ran turned around and fired a few shots at the bug but it seemed to prove ineffective.
The bug ran her down, she suddenly disappeared only to reappear before she could take a shot on it, it reacted like lightning and struck her with its armoured side, she was thrown against a rock and knocked unconscious.
I got the overwhelming feeling that I knew the bug, then I realised it was the one I had sworn I would slay.

I swung my fathers rifle off my back and realised I only had two shots left, I took aim and fired the round struck its hide and only seemed to draw its attention and piss it off.

It turned its attention to me and charged, it felt as if the ground was shaking as it charged head on at me.
I stumbled backwards trying to get the last round in, I slid round in, loaded it and prepared to fire as I moved back.
I tripped over a rock and fell backwards as it leapt towards me going for the kill.
I slipped on the trigger pulling it the round went off, as the creature sailed through the air, the round penetrated through an odd looking spot on its underside, the bug spun in the air and crashed into the ground beside me.

I got got to my feet breathing heavily, The bug writhed in pain, I stared down at it and it reminded me off the deer if had, had to kill. I took out my knife and ended the bugs life pushing the knife through the chinks in its scale like hide.

I came to the woman who was still unconscious, she had a cut on the back of her head from the impact, I choose to carry her off and tend to her wounds at my camp. It was at least a few hours before she came round, she found herself with a substance with the texture of honey over the wound.

I took the questioning her after I gave her something to drink, She explained she was something know as an ark hunter and thanked me for dealing with what was know as a hellbug, not that she had to know it was pure luck. I told her my story, she told me hers.

She convinced me to come with her, it was at least a days walk before we arrived at what was she explained a bar where ark hunter socialised in till there was an ark fall to head out to.

It was in this bar when I first found out about the Votan races, I was jumpy, I whispered to her who are they and she explained the long story how she knew it.

Not long after she explained she worked for Von Bach Industries and this is where the ark hunters where meeting before they would be shipped out to the Bay Area. She said her boss would arrive and he might give me a job as an ark hunter working for him, she sorted me out with a set of civilian clothes not like my animal hide I had got used to wearing. It felt different uncomfortable of sorts wearing these new clothes but I guess I had to look proper in there eyes if I was going to get a job she also gave me as thanks a small pistol and some rounds for my sniper rifle before she headed off.

It was hours later that Karl Von Bach arrived with some more ark hunters, The Lady explained the situation to Von Bach and it was sudden he explained to me about something that made to sense to me an AI to help me in battle that would give me powers, I assumed like the lady had like when she had disappeared.

I agreed and some of scientists took to getting some equipment ready, as we boarded what was called a Stratocarrier, It wasn't long later before the scientists called me in. I was told to stand still on a cross and I felt a sudden prick on the back of my neck I had a sudden dazed sensation and was rushed out of the room by the scientists who had already started packing up.

I stumbled off sorts around the area the ark hunters where being kept and bumped into a group of people they sort of adopted me into there ranks, I had become a member of the United Ark Hunters Association.

Desidus was part of a movement to erradicate the hellbugs in the Canadian provinces and when that proved futile he and what was left of his group ended up getting pushed farther and farther West until landing in the city of Vancouver.

His previous experience and the reputation of the Canadian Desert Nomads gained him employment as personal security in some of the top companies in Vancouver. When the internal war broke out among the humans of Vancouver city he decided to abandon the city and find something actual worth doing.

The northern states were brutal and left him with scars both internal and external and for the most part he just tried to stay away from everything, looking for a more civilized place to stay. Eventually he heard rumors about Von Bach Industries and decided to try and find out more. After a few years of trying to gain contact with the organization he finally had success when he met a recruiter in what was now a new town called Defiance. The recruiter took one look at Desidus' small stature and dismissed him immediately. Desidus whipped out his pistol and fired three rapid shots into a sign above the local brothel called the NeedWant from a ways away. The man hired Desidus on the spot and recommended he pay for a new sign or feel the wrath of a certain female individual. He followed this advice and then continued on to begin training for his new career with new hope that this was going to be something worthwhile.

Glad you liked it, Deimos. It's just a basic outline of what happened in her past, but I'm also a role-player and a writer, so I'm kinda used to coming up with fairly detailed character concepts.

I'm liking that there are a good number of people interested in this idea though. Can't wait to see more people's character bios.

Biography: Born June 2nd, year unknown, outside of Mobile, Alabama, he was raised in the quiet country side and grew up hunting and fishing. By the time he entered service in the United States Marine Corps, he was already quite a shot with a rifle. Due to outstanding marksmenship skills he was immediately scouted out of basic training for special forces in the Marines and was given extensive training weapons, demolitions, recon, and survival. Having served with distinction in the US armed forces under MARSOC for many years, he was eventually recruited by the Earth Military Coalition.

When The Pale Wars began, there were many conflicts across the nation, and while the majority of Smith's military record is highly classified, it is known that most of his fighting was in the Northeast around the New York and Washington D.C. area. Once military units began to become over run, he buried his uniforms and made his way on foot to his home state and joined the militia known as Alabama One to continue the fight. It is unknown how he made it to San Fransisco and The Bay Area, but this is the last place he has been seen.

Very little is known about him, but of what is known, he is as strong a fighter as he is a leader, and that he leads not just from the battlefield, but from the heart of the fight. It is said that at the Battle of Las Vegas during The Pale Wars, he was seen outnumbered and surrounded with most of his unit dead or injured, holding the enemy forces at bay with only a light machine gun and a hand full of grenades, although this is a heroic story, details may have been embelished.

I know what you mean I take bits of myself and throw them into my characters as well. Somewhat of a what would I be like if this event really happened. Eyes turn white from whatever caused central Canada to turn into a desert... try to regain my home because I love where I live, but I figured that the odds wouldn't be in my favor, but I am stubborn so it would take a lot to get me to give up. I can have a lot of patience for some things but I also have a temper that when provoked can make me a tad irrational though never hurtful. So yeah I take pieces of me and put them into the character.

I kind of went as far as I could from myself for my character, different gender and totally different nationality and ethnicity. :)

I take aspects of myself and put them into my character. However, this character is as different to me as I've ever done, though there are still similarities just not as many. Not nearly as many.

Biography: After leaving his home planet of Irath in the Votanis system, "Aaron" found his way to Earth and was one of The Defiant Few who helped to end The Pale Wars. At the Battle of Defiance, Aaron's life was saved by Smith, and since that day, Aaron has sworn a blood oath to follow and protect Smith in all of his endeavors. Little is actually known about Aaron to the outsider's of the A.R.C., but what is known is he is as deadly as he is stealthy. Specializing in cloaking technology, Aaron is and has always been hard to locate unless you know where he is going to be, in short, you can only find him if he wants to be found.

BIO: (hidden) was just an average teenager with a knack for technology and repairing electronics. When the Votan entered Earths atmosphere and contacted Humanity, he was in awe. He could only wonder what grand technology their ships held, what stories they brought from worlds far away, and what this would do to the world he loved.
When the Pale Wars started and ark falls began to take place all around his city, he ran with his family taking what valuables they had as their house was being crushed by falling debris. Running into their pick-up truck, (hidden) jumps in the back and his family jump inside as they raced down the boulevard avoiding the several intimidating pieces of space junk and skyscrapers falling all around them. While nearing the freeway exit, a large pothole causes (hidden) to fall out of the car barely avoiding a hard fall thanks to his overfilled backpack with clothing and unfortunately ps5. As he fumbles to get up, he looks down the street watching small groups of people running to escape the city and then he sees something surprising. About 30 ft down he sees a little girl, she couldn't have been older than 8, but what struck him as most peculiar was that she was just standing there....lost. Then...((hidden) hears something large and loud) he looks up to see a large chunk of debris slowly creeping down upon the street. To afraid to move, (hidden)'s dad runs out of the truck grabs him and pulls him in as they race into the freeway and away from the impeding debris.(hidden) can only look back at where the girl on the street was and watches as the debris crashes into the ground exploding into a fiery bright clash of flames and rock. (Hidden)s dad struggles to maintain the truck as the force of the blast shakes apart the vehicle violently eventually causing it to turn over itself.
(Hidden) and his family crawl out, everyone only suffering minor injuries. (Hidden) cannot forget the girls lost hopeless face and this continues to haunt him.
A few years later, (Hidden) and his family have moved to New York where safety is assured. (Hidden) has learned how to deal with the girl but did not shake it off. He has made a pact with himself to always offer help to those without it so that no one will ever die again with that lost hopeless face.
(Hidden) learns of VBIs search for suitable candidates to be sent to the West Coast to hunt for technology to further the survival of their Planet and its inhabitants. He decides it'll be the easiest way to fulfill his pact and gain power in order to do it. With his technological prowess and knowledge of holographic tech,he passes VBIS enlistment tests without any effort. Now he waits for the arduous journey awaiting him in what they still consider San Francisco as he trains in the VBI ark hunter camp which will take 28 more days before he can ship out. He no longer attaches himself to his old life and now calls himself (hidden).

He was born on April 2, 2018 in the remaining lands of Texas. He lived with his mother and father in Texas for almost 9 years without incident. In 2027 his mother was murdered by a "Human First" activist when she was tending to an injured Sensoth child. His father was away visiting his niece when this happened. His father then moved the two of them in with his Uncle Daniel and Aunt Kayleen. The murder weighed heavy on the heart of the father and in 2028 both he and the boy's uncle went off to fight in the Pale Wars. This left the boy with his aunt and slightly older cousin. Things weren't great for the small family group but they persisted. Shortly later, his uncle was killed in action during a battle in 2029. His father participated in the Battle of Defiance in 2030 and gave his life protecting innocents. The heroics of both his uncle and father instilled a desire to join the fight in the young boy. In 2033 his older cousin (whom he admired), Crush, went off to join the armed forces. The boy stayed with his Aunt Kayleen until she died in 2039. His cousin, Crush, returned for the funeral. About a month later, Crush told him that he was leaving for the Badlands near Las Vegas and that one day he (the young man) should head out that way himself. The boy then moved in with his Aunt Miranda and Uncle Carlos to help them with their business. He remained there until his Aunt Miranda died in a vehicle accident. Soon his Uncle Carlos began to abuse alcohol and became a belligerent drunk. After a hectic few months and many arguments, the young man took off in search of his wandering cousin. He traveled far and wide over North America but found no sign of Crush. Then in late 2045 he hears of Von Bach's Ark Hunter Expedition and signed up, feeling that this would give him the opportunity to reunite with his cousin. {To Be Continued ... through the Game's main storyline}

Bio: Although born into the Pale wars, ____ and his family were never fully involved. They moved every year in order to try and keep themselves away from the fighting as much as possible. shortly after his 4th birthday, radical terraforming from a nearby Arkfall caused earthquakes that demolished their house, leaving only _____ and his sister, +++++. _______' only close friendship was to his older sister as the years went on, relying on each other and the kindness of strangers to get along. Soon enough they learned to steal to survive.

As they traveled further south, they had found An Irathient soldier crying over the corpse of his daughter, killed by bandits. Hungry, and desperate, they tried to steal his backpack, hoping that he'd be too distracted to notice.+++++ realized why the soldier was crying, the girl he held in his arms was no older than her. _________ tailed his sister as she went up to console the shattered man. The moment +++++ touched him however, he flew into a rage and quickly pinned her to the ground, knife at her throat. nearly broke down to tears as he thought he was going to watch his sister be killed. In a blind rage ______ flung himself at the soldier, for he'd rather spare his life over his sister.

The soldier easily flung him aside and cut his face deeply, making _______ clutch his face to keep the blood from pouring out. _______ soon made his way between the soldier and his sister, never letting his eye off of the man that threatened her. the soldier stopped for a moment, then looked at what else lay between them. He saw his daughter on the ground and wept. Realizing his mistake, he took the two in and raised them as his own.

He heard of a colony that was developing in st. Louis and decided to head there. Along the way he trained both ++++++ and ______ in self defense, and how to use a gun. He always stressed that life is a lesson, to learn, to understand that these changes will define the future of all our species. +++++ and _____ became very spiritual, and agreed to share a common mark, a tattoo that covered their backs to symbolize the many stages of existence and the never ending cycle of life.

When they arrived in St. Lois it wasn't long before both of them heard about Von Bach Industries looking to hire. They hoped that this would be opportunity for them to go and help others much like themselves were, and hope to be a driving force in helping humans and Votan work together. While both got accepted, they were split up. ______ was sent over the the San Francisco Bay area, while ++++++ was sent elsewhere. They both said goodbye to their adoptive father before they were enlisted.

______ believes he can wholly handle whatever lies in store for him. A calm demeanor with every decision he makes even under pressure. A strong sense of self and devotion drives him to wherever he's needed.

DEFIANCE Character Bio

Birthplace: Ankeny, IA

Distinguishing features: Aviator Sunglasses and blood red face paint to match his eyes to cover up scars and one malignant eye.

Bio: Lynch was born and raised on an Iowa farm. He comes from a long line of military men and football stars. All the men in Lynch's family did stints in the military after which they went to major colleges on full ride football scholarships. Lynch was no different. He joined the Marines straight outta high school even though he had colleges lined up offering him scholarships. He just told them to wait four years and we would be back.

Lynch had stellar military career and rose through the Marine's ranks quicker than almost anyone. By the end of his four year stint he was a Sergeant and respected by all his peers and superior officers. Lynch had become one of the best grenadier, either throwing them or shooting them from a launcher, the Marines had ever seen. He was also great at using shotguns from all the years hunting in Iowa for pheasants and other upland birds as well as fowl.

Then tragedy struck, and Lynch was caught by shrapnel from the said of a building in the face when a mortar round hit right next to him. His face was peppered and he lost his left eye and has scars to this day as a reminder of it. He did not reenlist even though all of his superiors told him to and they could fix his eye in the next couple of years with the new technology that was coming out soon. Lynch decided against it and wanted to return to football but was worried about his sight loss and how coaches would react to his injury.

He was correct in his assumption that colleges wouldn't take him because of his new sightless left eye. Only one college gave him a shot and it was his father's alma mater USC. Before enrolling in school he was sought out by Von Bach Industries to be a test subject in a strange new EGO program. He accepted and was told his left eye wouldn't be healed but he would no longer need it anymore. He signed on and underwent the EGO injection and was instantly completely aware of his surroundings. He didn't know how Karl Von Bach had done it but he was a genius. He was even able to talk Karl into allowing him to go to college before his contract went active.

He excelled as a center even with only one eye but his Freshman year was cut short by the Pale Wars where Lynch was pressed into service again and fought through The Pale Wars and helped end the war at Defiance. After the battle of Defiance Lynch went back to the Bay Area to fulfill his contractual obligations to VBI.

Not much is known about Lynch's family other than the military backgrounds. All were stellar Marines and most died in battle. Lynch's father died in his arms at the battle of Defiance. A very sore spot for Lynch. The whereabouts of Lynch's mother are unknown and there are no record of any siblings. Lynch fell in with like minded individuals that call themselves Exodus after the great journey of the Bible and how it relates to them.
