    Deleted and not coming back
Been playing since closed beta. Since launch there has been several problems with the game that the developer has yet to to fix. I tried to get on this morning and my connection is timed out. The game isn’t bad, the developer’s inability to fix the issues is bad though. I didn’t play it on PS3 but it seems like Trion is letting have been letting players down that did and really don’t care about the issues that are plagueing this game. I’ll never download or buy another Trion title ever again.

Give a week or two after launch and come back if you feel like it. It's a fun game which is why so many of played so much last gen despite there being issues. It's an online only game across multiple platforms: we know there's going to be funky times at launch.

Man as much as I hate to see a player (especially new one) give up and leave. I feel ya brother. This game is not only a total disappointment to returning players but gives a really bad taste in the mouth for new ones as well. They really screwed this launch and there really isn't anything I can say or offer to give you hope to stay. The endless crashes, ridiculous lag, and amazing incompetence in incorporating various game systems just make this game nothing more than a tragedy and a comedy of errors. Maybe Trion will fix this and maybe they won't. Hopefully they will do right by their player base but I am not going to hold out hope. Time will tell. All I can say is good luck, we are sorry to see you leave, and before ever redownloading this game check the forums to see if Trion has their **** together yet to save you any further frustration. Good Luck.

    Understandable
I played the old game since IT'S beta.

    This is a sad replacement.

I've yet to see anything to make it seem more than a way to mess up the players of the old game - putting them in a crippled ghost of what the old game was.

I'm not a pre-teen wishing for mommy's credit card number. I'm a professional who has and would spend money in an enjoyable game. This game has a VERY long way to go to even come close to its predecessor, much less anything that would be an improvement.

The game on xbox for me is more than playable,i havent had any lag issues, and the frame rate hasnt been dropping at all lately since the hotfix for the server stability.Since you didnt play it on the older gen consoles, you cant say trion has been letting people down, they are trying hard just like with the last game. Now i understand if it would be un-enjoyable but theres no need to bash developers for not living up to your needs. As i said, the game is playable right now,so you can give it a shot..

I haven't had much in the way of lag myself, but my problem is most of the other things, like the fact they gutted half the games systems from the orignal game, and seemed to have given enemies about triple the health they used to have, they also hit much harder than the old defiance game. Now I don't mind them hitting harder makes it more of a challenge, but turning them into bullet sponges was a no-no. Old Defiance start of game, a mutant rifleman takes 6 body shots (or 3-4 head shots) to kill, in Defiance 2050, it takes bascally a entire 30 round clip to kill that same enemy. Nevermind the fact the weapon system is horribly flawed, the damage stat on weapons is so low, that even +10ing a green weap and adding it all to damage is not going to make much of a noticable diffrence due to the low values on the base gun.

The problem people have is how BAD the game is compared to the orignal Defiance, enemies take alot longer to kill, hit way harder (don't mind this so much) and they bascally gutted like 60% of the games systems out. The game looks a bit prettier, but its also had alot of the fun stuff taken out. A remake of a game is usually at least as good as the orignal or close to it, with simmlar game systems and such, but this one... They almost completly failed with it. I actually went back and re-installed the orignal game, and its SO much better than 2050 is. Even at Launch the game systems in the old defiance are far better than what 2050 has.

For now i've uninstalled the game until I see them improve it. IMO they should have just ported the old game to a new engine keeping most things intact. I expect bugs at launch, anyone should its a part of life these days with games, but the fact that the game feels like a complete slog kinda ruined it. The first thing i'd like to see them do is either half enemy health, or double weapon base damage, this will bring it closer to how the orignal felt.

Yes, you nailed it, its a sad replacement. With all the increases in technology, the improvements in development tools and server tech, this is what they give us? The only thing that appears to be re-imagined is how to hoover your rl cash away from you. It doesn't look any better than the original, it plays a hell of a lot worse than the original, where there was room to create a unique character with a great skill tree we now have something more suited to the pre-school set rather than mature, long term, paying gamers, its so simplistic as to be insulting. The fact that they left all the bugs and glitches in when cutting and pasting this debacle is a slap in the face to their customers. That so many are unable to play because of Trions cheap mindset and reluctance to pay for decent servers is ridiculous. But this is just another example of why Trion should not be in the video game business, frankly they should sell up and would be more suited to selling shonky rubbish late at night on your TV.

I was excited when I saw they were redoing Defiance and talked to my friends to try and get them into it, now I am frantically trying to contact them to tell them to avoid it at all costs to at least help them avoid the disgust I feel at such a blatant rip off being foisted on us by company with such a bad history.

All the problems D2050 has were around for 5 years in D2013 (well, apart from all the new bugs).

If it wasn't fixed over the past 5 years it won't be fixed now.
