Why is the weapon skill leveling so slow?

Weapon leveling is probably super slow because they copy/pasted it from the previous Defiance but didn't bother to re-scale the numbers despite re-scaling the rest of the numbers in the game. So if the old game wanted you to deal 1 million damage to level up, and your weapons are dealing 2000 damage at level 1, then it only takes 500 shots to level it up. Now looking over at 2050, when your weapons at level 1 are dealing 20 damage, you're now needing to get 50000 shots to level it up. So it makes sense everyone would be leveling super slow and show no improvement until they reach ego 50 and finally do damage comparable to old.

It also seems to be based off of how much damage you deal. So since rocket launchers and detonators will deal significantly more damage when used with the demolitionist class, those will also be leveling faster. If you prefer to use Assault Rilfes, look for a perk / class that helps those out and stick with it.

So that is the reason why rocket launchers and detonators are useless now...
Trion why don't you remove everything from the game and put in on the tallent tree?!?

Oh wow, I guess it really is based off damage dealt instead of kills. Interesting.

It still levels extremely slow even at EGO 50 and near 2k PR. Like ridiculously slow. :mad:

Yours are leveling slow?
You´re just plain lucky then cause mine are not leveling at all, that being one of the reasons I´m not playing much.
Level 33 and all skills at 1 except for runners and rollers.

What is you power level? ego level is just for show...
Damage = expierence, so if you don't have the power level you won't get the skill either.
After around 900/1000ish I started to level up me skills but once again only the assault skill.
So if you using mainly snipers pistols or anything else that does slow damage it is gonna take a lil longer.

No need to defend anyone because we all know it is true.
You not seeing the bars increase is what is bugged.

What I think the issue with the weapon skill on the stats screen is that it's showing the number out of 50, like 1/50, 2/50, etc, but the actual progress bar is shown under the weapon and the ammo count when moving your character around.
