When you pass 2500 power rating (question inside)
just wondering since I'm now almost 2800 power rating, and still have missions to go(before I finish the rest) is the rating on all rewards supposed to cap out at 2500

the 12 grenades I got from missions themselves are all 2500 no variance, the 6 shields same thing and the hand full of guns also 2500

kind of useless other than materials and vendor fodder if it is the case

just looking for clarification or if it truly is a bug

I AM also experiencing a huge drought in upgradable loot most items are minimum 200 point sunder my current level and only way I stand a chance at upgrade are purples and legendaries which are few and far between in regards to boxes and or drops

Im having the same problem at 2200, all my weapon drops are 1900-1980. I think its intentional for me since any gun under 2k gives green salvage, while any gun over 2k gives blue salvage, thus slowing down progression. All my shield drops and grenade drops however are at or always slightly above my level.

shields and nades im with you on that about half are usually an upgrade even if its only 1 point upgrade

its the guns that are pissing me off at this stage I can only handle doing so many co-op runs with limited number of keys daily trying for the good stuff from the final crates

Yea, I wish the arenas were working. I always got a large amount of good drops in them. Right now I'm not rushing through it to fast, since its like beta still to me. Im sure it will be fixed.... eventually

They mentioned in the stream today that when you get to a high PR, greens and blues drops would not be enough to advance your PR, you need purples. They said that coops would be the way to go.

I dont know, I'm around 2688, and the only weapon drops I'm getting from sieges and major arkfalls that are high enough after enhancement to advance my PR are purples. Basically my progression has slowed to a crawl with drop rates being what they are at the moment.

I realize that about the drops and I was also watching the stream but im talking about the quest rewards themselves not the actual drops you get from kills

AND FOR ANYONE wondering yes mission rewards cap at 2500, just downed nim with a clan member

so if you are over 2500 all mission rewards will top out at that

You can almost hear the (former) players exiting the game.

Ok, 2500 is the cap, but below that, I heard they always drop higher than your current PR, is that true?
If so, would that mean that it's best to do them when you're 2400ish PR?

I had to get 'innovative' in tracking pr/pl.

I took one of my build slots and labeled it Real Power Rating.

Then I put whatever weapons that have the highest PR/PL rating, and the most important step, leave them unmastered or modded.

Then I put the best shield and grenade there too.

Those unmodded stats, create a way to track if you are getting the gear you need.

Then as you go to every arkfall/siege use whichever build you normally use. Just leave that one alone until you get better gear. Then update that build.

    The Next Trick.

Take your build that has the best modded gear and pr/pl and BUY a New Shield. Choose something practical like an Ironhide. Oddly enough you can get a shield at almost your pr/ pl, of which will help bump up your overall pr/pl/. Grenades don't work that way, so you will have to depend on rng to help raise your pl/pr with them.

After that, hit every arkfall, siege and etc you can for the rng drops.

    The Grind is real.

One of the devs on Friday's stream said after a "certain power level" green and blue drops will not match your pl. He said only epic and legendary gear would help you progress. I suppose this includes world drops and mission rewards. I don't think it's a good idea to apply that to mission rewards. At some point I'm going to start feeling the rewards don't match the efforts for this game.

Lack of progression will kill a progression based game. Just look at the cliff Destiny 2 dropped off of in the spring.

Beyond that is said to enhance and mod them out. 5000 max cap. max drop 2500... need to mod out max with all epic or whatever purples to add up to some number to then be averaged out all together having everything maxed out somehow equaling a 5000 rating. But that's just one load out of one class... need way more coffee then added into the math...
