Lol, I am also working on my AR skill, just for PVP. Also they are nice for close and for far. Im at 3 right now. I dont like rockets or detonators, and I want to focus on particulat weapons. I'm almost 7 at smg's :DQuote:

nolan's AR progresses in bursts i guess. i leveled it up once and is still gaining exp, but it also tends to sit at certain points on it's exp bar for a long time.
bolt action snipers are my favourite but also more annoying to use than auto snipes because of the >click >unscope >fire thing, as well as the lack of need to lead shots in this game, which always throws me off.
i did the mission going to the bridge last night allmost entirely with my bolt action. i had heard darm matter are hard but i largely find them easier than 99ers so far, so much so that doing side missions with 99ers the dark matter threw me off and i was getting killed by the 99ers for the first time since i first encountered them.
My bolt sniper and assault rifle skills are around 11/12 last I checked. Been slowly working on semi-automatic sniper, think I'm 4 now on those.
Not really sticking to one weapon so none of mine are really high:
bolt sniper rifle is rank 3.
Smg rank 5
Ar rank 5
Launchers rank 3
etc etc (highest is rank 5 overall)
LMGs at 19 (saw ftw) Afraid to take it to 20 due to the vehicle bugs and it might happen to the weapons as well?
pump action at 19 same as above.
Handguns at 12
sawed off at 5
bolt action sniper at 9
Semi auto sniper at 11
Hey, about bolt action sniper rifles.
- Try the one with alien technology, it can fire all shots without moving the scope for reload. Mine has 14 ammo, I love it.
- I think the dam is a bit lower than the "real" old school sniper rifle.
But if you enjoy sniping, get one with alien technology.
Also, I really like Assault Rifles, the one you get from a mission, the purple one from main mission.
- Is still my favorite, and off course no scope.
2 hints for Scopes;
When scoping shotguns, use "Shotgun Hip Spread" - this is no scope.
Assault Rifles or the bigger rifles, if you really must have a scope on, use The Tactical Sight - Not too much zoom, and big red scope area to look with.
I usually have one in one of the loadouts... I scope the lmg's, but not the Assault Rifles.
Also, why is sniper scopes so boring? The alien default scope is sweet compared to the other.
Also, I like the assault shotgun with high speed - and low damage :( Mostly because it feels like a Assault rifle shotgun, don't think it will work in pvp, since I havent tried that yet.
Pistols at level 10.

The thing I like the most about the VOT bolters (the 'alien' ones) is unzooomed they're actually still very accurate, can easily pop off headshots in close to melee range with that thing and also has a very fast fire rate for a sniper rifle. Probably why it's a good bit less damage than the others (~1000 vs ~1200)Quote:

Hi guys. Not sure if this has been mentioned in the thread already (I skimmed through it)
Once you completely level up your weapon you will NOT gain any more experience for that weapon type unless you buy/find a new one to use. So that awesome LMG you got at lvl xxx will no longer contribute to you gaining LMG level increases unless you switch it for another LMG that has not been leveled. Just a friendly heads up :)
Not looking forward to leveling up sawed-off shotguns :(
