Welcome to MMO - These are ONLINE games, only playable ONLINE, they need constant server care and maintenance, the servers are usually 24/24 online but sometimes, especially in the first days after release, there can be patches and bug fixes to have a better game experience so server can go offline and during that downtime you cannot play, but hey, you aren ot paying a fee to pay, so even if you cannot play for 1-2 hours, you are not wasting moneys.
Welcome to Defiance
Looks like I owe you an apology. Ars reports this morning that "More than 30 MMORPG companies targeted in ongoing malware attack." (See http://arstechnica.com/security/2013...alware-attack/)
To the OP: If you use the password for Defiance anywhere else, you need to change them all. Now.
I understand what you say and no I don't think I've played an MMO before unless you count farcry2 and 3, or world at war. But it would be nice to at least be able to do the single player story lines when the servers are down. And then when the servers are up it can update what you have done to your online status.
OP not alone, got hacked for $300 of bits. Luckily my credit card company put a stop on the card as they were frequent purchases.
Removed my payment info: thanks for the heads up.
perhaps a lag at the time you bought, and so the purchase request stacks at the way to the server.
And the Server gets a stack of requests. The result is, what you have posted.
