Yikes! Pumpkin Patch is decent area coverage and all and will beat down low level mobs with enough shots, but it's definitely NOT the most effective weapon for All the mobs. Don't any of them wonder just how you rack up massive kill totals? When I'm surrounded by low level or people who don't use the most optimal gun/nano for the situation (granted many of them may not have many choices in their arsenal yet)... I get to a point where I toggle on "all these kills belong to me" mode and work on my MDK count for fun. 502 Dark Matter kills at an Overpass final's my high kill total with 87,000 score. That was fun. No one else broke 150 kills and I was well over 3x the nearest score. I did most of the cores with the same pack of 5-20 others and wasn't the only one hogging all the green buffs, but with the final lasting 27 minutes there was plenty of time for them... and I do spend plenty of time chewing up bulwarks.
Boasting aside and getting back to your point... I'm a bit surprised how little chat there is on optimal guns and nanos in game. It's likely done within a small group of friends and not zonewide. Maybe some of this has to do with the overall ease of this game, to pick up any gun and open fire. Then easy to fall into the 'I like this' comfort of the same guns over and over. You'd like to think those sticking to Pumpkin Patches would realize it's effect kinda sucks... maybe the tough bosses in Event Horizon will change that. Pumpkin Patch only users are not going to have much success and blown off the major event circle harassed by shield/armor heavy mobs. They will run out of ammo for long periods of time with little ammo to pick up, and being pushed off the ammo boxes will be stuck on empty.
Chances are they won't even question who did the heavy lifting stripping shields and armor so they could actually get some kills in.
Maybe if 2050 also listed the total damages done in a separate column of the final scoreboard, and not just on your individual results score screen. Hmmm... and if that damage total was further broken down for all to see... what nano was used for X,Y,Z damages per each player... ark hunters might try out different nanos, or at least question what they could be doing better.
