    In my opinion, it's going to come down to technical issues.
    The immediate success of the game is going to come down to whether or not the team can hammer down on the de-syncing I've been seeing as rather rampant in videos and streams, and complained about on various forums.

    Everything else looks great! Solid core gameplay, good skill tree design, interesting premise and world, unique tie in element. Content can be pushed out over time and people also have the show and the story based events it will likely spawn in the world to keep them busy and happy.

    As long as initial impressions aren't soured by instability, I think this game will speak for itself quite well and potentially go very far. Especially considering the theoretical sales on 3 major markets (PS3, Xbox AND pc).

    it will definatly be a factor. i do think its major selling point, its connection to the tvshow till be the biggest tell. if it hold a good link between the show and game, and actually feel your living the show, so to speak, it will do majorly well.

    if its only a piddly link with events no different to any other game, just so happens there is a tv show. tons of people will be disappointed and the game will fail

    Whatever company or whatever big online game it is, there will Always be technical issues at start.

    Do not forget how thousands or even milions are waiting behind pc to login when server's are just gonna get open for login.

    Yeah, my largest concern is a relatively complex one. Not only of the quality of the show and how events are portrayed...but also how they are levied. If plot events are specifically introduced in ways that make them easier to complete, simply for the sake of moving the plot along in a direction they desire, or neigh impossible for the same reason, fans will tear it to pieces.

    @Celke
    Inevitably issues will occur, but how quickly they address them and how severe will be key.

    I'm sure it will be much easier than in case of SimCity launch - people couldn't play 4 days.

    Certainly true Kriegson, I think we will see some improvement with this upcoming beta event, and the more people that turn out for it, the more data they have, the more stable it can get. I'm really just waiting expectantly for an nvidia driver update to make the most out of the game visually :P

    historically it has always been about amount of content present AT RELEASE, specially endgame content. Thats what makes or breaks an MMO 9 out of every 10 times

    To me the link between the show and the game is only a bonus and really doesn't matter to me all that much. Do I think it is neat... sure. Really though it comes down to the fact that I hope its a shooter that can stay original with new content and areas. As long as the shooter is smooth and consistent I can see myself playing for a while. I am not really sure how much they will be able to change the show based on events in the game, so I am keeping my expectations low and hoping that they pleasantly surprise me. lol.

    But gameplay makes a game worth playing, not all the other stuff that is just candy.
