2) People who for some reason expected a full blown RPG even though it has been known for quite some time that it is not primarily an RPG but a shooter with some RPG elements thrown in Nobody expected a full blown rpg, or those that did are few and far between. What people did expect is a shooter with stuff to do in it that isnt the same two pvp maps of tdm on repeat. Even the level system isnt required in this game but theres no depth or feeling of progression no matter where you look and for any game you need that
3) Along with #2, lots of people who cant grasp the differences between shooter and RPG plenty of people know the difference, you're hung up on rpg vs shooter because people are using other mmo games to compare depth of content and playability, most mmo's are rpg's but even the other shooters have longer gameplay, more depth and significant replayability
4) Tons of console players who have never experienced an MMO launch before It seems, from these forums alone, that the majority of console players are loving this game, a few technical hitches but an mmo on a console is a start, despite how shallow it is
5) People who somehow believe that all MMOs in history EXCEPT for Defiance have somehow managed to launch 100% bug free and that the same amount of content was in those games at launch as there is now, even though those same games they mention have had several years and multiple patches and expansions since Nobody has ever claimed that ever, and especially not claimed that present day mmo = launch day mmo in terms of content. You just have a massive chip on your shoulder when people show you time and time again that other mmo games simply did launch with a ton of stuff to do which is why they're popular still. You need the original content to get the playerbase in the first place
6) People who no matter how many times they are told do not get that they have not beaten the game and that all they have done is equivalent to reading the prologue of a book and claiming to have read the entire book still insist they have beaten the game, regardless of the fact that new content will be released regularly starting this coming Monday You're expecting a review to be of what the game *might* be a year down the line? Thats a) stupid and b) giving Defiance an unfair advantage on every other review of every other mmo thats ever been released, and THAT is the reason you're fanboying to the extreme. This doesnt get preferential treatment because you're afraid that you made a mistake in buying it and are willing to defend the game to the death to stop the mistake being true
