    Games are getting dumbed down
this decades games are being dumbed to get a wider audience then there hardcore fans such as taking things out to not confuse people like the attribute system in RPG'S and giving you an all knowing character in games who knows were quest objectives are to a tee plus the super repetive quest and dumbed down storylines for example in the elder scrolls 3 morrowind there mages guild is made up of 26 missons plus 2 optional missons one of which is to defeat an enemy guild and you have 1 level 90 and 2 level 35 skill point in its 6 favored skills to become arch mage also of the 10 guilds 5 can become unjoinable if do certain missons. in skyrim the college winterhold (Skyrims mages guild) has about 10 or 12 missons that are relativly easy and you can became head as soon as you start no prequisites required and guild are joinable with no in guild fighting. now before you jump the gun and say im a hater against skyrim I do like some part

TES 3 OR 5 my opinion
    storyline:3
    graphics:5
    music:5
    challenge:3
    character design (attribute):3
    chacter design (looks):5
    character (background):3
    fighting:5
    side quest:3
    follows in game lore:3
    best level system:3
3 was and RPG while 5 was more of action RPG

this is my opinion on 2 good game as well as a decades of games being dumbed i feel it needs to be stopped what do you think.

He is not ranking them on a scale. He is saying which one he likes better. 3=Morrowind, 5=Skyrim.

I was confused at first too

games are getting dumbed down, because when a complex game that makes you think comes around, nobody buys it. and I am including all the people complaining that games are getting dumbed down when I say "nobody".

and the people who do happen to buy it, complain that things aren't "convenient" enough for them. (OMG no fast travel! I have to actually run/ride everywhere! its tedious!)

Thank the times of instant gratification. There is a reason why the "retro" games and a lot of imports are so popular with the older gaming crowd.

^This, exactly. One of my favorite games is Dragon's Dogma, and the biggest complaint was that it had no fast travel system. So what?!? They managed to make the combat system so fun that I didn't mind running from one end of the map and having to fight the same critters again and again.

The same folks who whine about no fast travel and such are the same folks who stand over a microwave oven grumbling, "Hurry up!" It is sad, really.

Have to say that I LOVED Dragon's Dogma, they are releasing the New Version on the game called Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, it's not a DLC oh and DD had Fast Travel, had the stones you could put down and they had the ferrystones
