Been playing this game all week...no prob
Now i get on today and my system has froze 3 times....to were i had to shut the switch off from my surge protector...couldnt shut the system off on its own or nothing.
This is going to ruin my PS3 wtf is wrong all of a sudden?
Your lucky only happening today. I've had it happen 30+ pus times. So far it hasn't corrupted my hard drivr

well ive just started grouping and using a mic.....do u think either of these are the problem or has it been happening solo?
6 times total for me twicei n the last hour
I've had it only twice and I play ALOT each time I was able to hold the button on the PS3 for 15 secs. Then it starts right up and nothing bad
Never had a 'hard' lock where I've had to hit the switch in the back. I've had to hold the power button down at the most with these freezes. However, I've had some other problems where I'll try and shut down from the game and it'll beep the PS3 on shut down or other times where I'll try and exit the game to the XMB and it'll do the same.
Really hoping the devs tighten up the code or whatever the hell the problem is causing the freezes/beeps. I may have experienced it once with other games but it's happened so rarely I can't even remember them but Defiance has done it a bit too many times.
My game froze right as I was about to kill Nim...Talk about frustrating... >.<
I don't think that would be problem all the time happened me I was on my own. I think its a server hiccup

Battlefield 3 has been doing this since it launched, and it's never been fixed (I still hard lock occassionally). You can always power it off with the power button, but the severity of the freeze determines how long you have to hold down the power button (sometimes it's 10-15 seconds).
Defiance froze me a few times in the opening days, hasn't done it again since. It corrupted some of the data on my hard drive once, but oddly enough it was for a game I hadn't been playing recently.
mine freezes so need to unplug the ps3. this isnt going to ruin my ps3 is it? if so ill stop playing untill the patch gets here
Definitely an on going issue with this damn game happens to me at least twice a day. I have been lucky, though, considering I had only just begun missions. Others have not been so lucky. Odds are against me as I'm sure my luck will eventually run out statically speaking of course.
k well ill try to hold the power button a lil longer next time....bout to play while not in a group the rest of the night and if i dont freeze then my problem is grouping....havent had a problem other then grouping.
just reminding me of black ops...was doing this so i got rid of it...hate that game anyway so no bad feelings there haha.
but in my bros case....black ops screwed his ps3 and needed to buy a new one cause of the hard freeze....hopefully it quits and they fix it.
I really like the support of trion...but not enough to risk my console...cant afford that lol
If you absolutely have to do it, use the switch on the back of your PS3 instead of pulling the plug or doing something on the power source. To me it seems the game gets more unstable on the weekend and works much better during the work week. I have had 1 crash each weekend and nothing bad happen during the M-F time frames. So it must be related to server load and code somehow getting messy in such a situation. Who knows...Quote:

wish the best for this game cause its amazing...and the devs are greatly appretiated for all there hard work trying to fix everything.
just hope i can group up after the patch...the weekend is the only time i really have to group up
The game takes a lot of CPU and GPU power, especially for consoles.
Are you sure your PS3 isn't overheating? That's what it sounds like.
havent heard it making any loud noises...runs just the same...i dont think it would overheat just being in a group....compared to solo....cause thats the only time its happened was in a group...now ive been logged out at arkfalls when its lagging like crazy but never frozen....ps3 has not been hot nor has it gotten loud sounding like its working hard.Quote:

and to add to that...every single time it froze it was just me and my brother in the area....no purple blip to be seen....no lag....just...ok lets go here...jump on the runner and boom.....frozen.
