Why couldn't they just call it dollars? Did the money get terraformed, also? I feel like I'm saying something uncouth when saying Scrip. I mean, I understand the SciFi need to change money into something universally used between aliens and nations... but, why Scrip? Why not the ol' staple "Credits"?
Also, the name evokes images of flattened shrimp. So that's how I imagine the physical money must look.
Well, one would think, with what has happened, Aliens, Terraforming, global decimation, the faux global economy that we currently have, that's not backed by anything really anymore, these markets would be obsolete and hold no value.
I'm sure borders have erased in the world of Defiance, at least in the sense that we know them.
of the million images the word scrip could cause to pop in my head honestly flattened shrimp is the furthest from being it. that makes n sense to me. why couldnt they just call it dollars? so there are like 8 different races of aliens in the defiance universe, im sure the countries of the world collapsed during their pale war. and the dollar was a distant memory when it came time for peace between different species. thats why its not "sheriff", "cop", "pig", "five-o", "johnny law", "feds", or "the fuzz". its lawkeeper lol. to many big world events, setbacks in living conditions from war/poverty, along with new people/aliens that didnt know about our "normal" life before the war lead to new terms for everything.
