Love the game HATE the industry
This rant isn't a Defiance issue alone but as of lately the whole gaming industry. Defiance would had been great for me if it had been more polished. I'm tired of buying a $60 game and being a non-paid tester while they patch stuff. It's more than server issues, it's the way these missions are buggy. I understand the whole stress testing aspect and I'm ok with it. But having to reboot the game because the missions wouldn't progress correctly, isn't right. Then after doing so, you are placed back to the beginning of the mission, having to be repeat the process of shooting the same enemies.

What upsets me is I buy a product expecting it to be completed/polished, but often times it isn't, and on top of that I can't get a refund for a game. Even if what they promised will never be delivered. It borderlines a fraudulent act but we, the consumer, can't sue the gaming industry.

It's to the point that gamers are ok with trading it in for $30 less then they paid; even if they took it back the same day.

Am I the only one that feels this way? 7 days of boost is nice but playing a well made/polished game, day 1, is better.

You'll never played a polished MMO on launch. This MMO happens to have been released simultaneously on three separate platforms. Thank Trion for that, this has NEVER been done before. Wait for the patch release tomorrow or tuesday, things will be better.

    That's business,

In the Game Industry all the company's are at each others throat, working towards a deadline so they can publish games before or after a rival has published theirs. It all boils down to how much money they can make in the least amount of time possible in order to gain profit on their fiscal years.

The thing about XBL and other Platforms is they all have a service in which grants people to update their games with patches / DLC Content when ever it's available. This is more of a convenience for Developers as they know if they can't give a game that certain spit and polish before the deadline is up, then they can do it after it's released.

That's why some Developers extract DLC from the Game and have the customer buy it when it's released, you'll notice an update / DLC becomes available and it's file size is x.xx kb etc, surely it should be bigger? however it's already on the Disc but it needs to be unlocked using certain code in the update.

Taking a sealed game back to the store in my opinion should grant the customer a full refund, IF they have proof of purchase from the store they got it from. But if a person has had enough of a game and they take it back, even if it's been a day or two after it's release, they will only get the trade in value of second hand (or used) games. That's business. The store isn't going to buy back a game which is un sealed for full price regardless, unless the Developers send out a Mass Recall due to defective games.

That rarely happens due to the system the Developers have in place, they can fix / update over the wire (internet) thus making it easier to take peoples money.
