Next-Gen version of Defiance ? or Defiance is dead in one year.

Hi,

In one year, at this moment, the next gen consoles will be released.
Even earlier for the PS4, and maybe later for the xbox 3.

But it does not matter, Defiance will still be alive with updates / content etc.
The problem is that with the "jump" to one generation to another, the game will be deserted on consoles.
Few people play two generations of console at the same time, and Defiance will be technically very bad.

It would be wise to release a next gen version of Defiance (at low price ?), and I think it is the wish of every consoles players here.
compatible with the old version ( + our characters, stuff etc. ) but maybe this is asking too much.

Otherwise Defiance will be probably dead on consoles, only the pc version will still be active.

What do you think of that ? Any project from Trion about this ?

Pretty sure that the PC version has alot more players than the console versions...could be wrong though.

Did not know that the PS3 & Xbox 360 will explode this fall...

Next gen console won't be relevant till late 2015 when people start jumping ship

Even if they do jump ship, why would you get rid of perfectly good console? It still works right? Still enjoy the game, right?

I think it is the other way around. Defiance will do lot better on consoles because that is the platform given priority while making the game.

Try playing Defiance and consoles. It feels very natural and right at home.

This does raise a good question, but I guess time will tell.

It would be nice if it was ported to next gen with a graphical update, along with the PC version.

did you know that people still play consoles that aren't in the current generation? and I'm not just talking xbox and play station, I'm talking Nes, dreamcast, hell, I'm sure there's someone who regularly plays on their Magnavox Odyssey, point is, if the person enjoys the game it won't matter what console it's on so much.

MMO clients tend to be more flexible

Not sure why the client could not show up on next gen systems...

Because not all gaming engines are flexible. A lot of MMOS are stuck in DX9 because the architecture is limited and can not be brought up to speed with current times.

The Xbox 720 and PS4 will be Luxury items for 3 years minimum. I reckon they'll still release Xbox 360 and PS3 Titles until 2017
