When you short some customers over others you are open yourself to serious liability.

This isn't credible at all. Think about how much it would cost to bring an action for this, and how little reward there would be to reap. Even if you got every individual who pre-ordered for the Xbox in on a class action lawsuit, think about how little each individual would be entitled to for damages. Assuming you actually had a legitimate, non-frivolous case, NBC's lawyers would tangle it up in the legal system to the extent it would become pointless to accept the case.

In this case Promise beta access and then deliver a beta most can't access.

LOL. Once again because it doesn't fit just YOUR schedule, "most can't access" it, right. Many have even stated they are paying for the game and could care less about the beta access. As for ethical... what's unethical, is claiming something isn't happening when it is, or QQ/crybabying that "it'll only last 2 seconds", or claiming it's a bait-and-switch, as well as threatening to bad-mouth the company and lower their sales... which is quite borderline to "defamation of character". But eh, whatever.

Saying that would be alright if it was just a few people complaining. But considering that it's over half of the 360 fanbase, saying get over it will not have a positive effect.

No we should feel slightly worried, that's the natural response. Is this how the Xbox 360 users are going to be treated with in the future?

I had thought I'd missed all the betas, as I wasn't around for the first two betas... I wasn't even AWARE they were going to do a third. I was still going to pre-order the game for PC even without beta-testing it. Why you might ask? Because I'm paying for THE GAME. The game will cost $60 whether a person buys it before it launches, or after... the B-O-N-U-S-E-S are simply that, "BONUS" as a way of them saying "thank you" for having the faith to buy the game early. Honestly, if I were Trion and saw this fallout, if they had the staff to do their own Q&A, I'd cancel all betas and decide to do it in-house instead, just to avoid all the nonsense. *shrugs*

You missed my point, just stating the fact that those saying we shouldn't get enjoyment from participating are wrong. You may have missed my earlier posts also,as i have stated that i don't need a beta since my order was down for the game and not the beta.My only real complaint is i was hoping to use the beta to get more people on to this game and thats just not going to happen with what we have been given.I do however fully understand why others are upset as should everybody that isn't just trying to incite a flame war.Sledges offer of PC codes (be they of no use to most of us) shows,to me at least, that Trion understands why people are upset aswell.

Once again the other side comes off with the insults. I mean its like a huge neon sign that you have no argument. But allow me to once again shoot it down.

I said it doesn't fit MOST PEOPLES schedules. A statement of fact and if you don't take my word or common sense's word for it then look at the Usa today article I sited showing clearly that 90% of anyone with a job will be working during the beta while only 1/3 would be working on a weekend. lol @ defamation of character for providing a negative product review. Stretch much?

I get what people are saying. I really do, but the facts are clear. PS3 owners paid money for the pre-order. As part of that pre-order was guaranteed time playing the game. Xbox owners paid the same amount and were given the same guarantee. But now Trion is giving 140 hours to PS3 players and 40 hours to Xbox owners. Not to mention the difference in available free time between weekends and weekdays. That roughly 100 hour difference is substantial. Now it's only a couple bucks if you were to compare it to renting it for a similar length. Just $5 bucks lets say, so no big deal. But that's for nearly 25,000 pre-orders for the Xbox. That smells like a class action lawsuit. Legal. Not legal. Enough profit for a lawyer to take the case. Who knows. A lady successfully sued McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her own lap. So lets not act like it's not a possibility.

To me the bigger point and the reason I think many Xbox owners will be cancelling pre-orders isn't a sense of entitlement. It's the huge difference in "beta" access and the legitimate concerns about quality that arise. We still have been given no reason for why there is such a massive difference. The discrepancy and the lack of open dialogue from Trion is a no sale for me.
