Man I beasted Nim I'll admit he did get me on my first try
Hes really not that difficult - like alot in Defiance - it takes a little patience and time to learn what to do and then do it. Im almost 40 years old and not some young hyper reflex kid - and I kicked his *** on the second try. *shrug*
To me when playing through the game I enjoyed doing most of the main missions but some where very group based unless you took your time to do them and that could take some time hiding and shooting which I have become very good at. But NIM on the other hand was not that easy as most seem to say yeah it took me many trys to get his layout and play style down. I ran a autoshottie and a LMG and switched the LMG for a AR with blur even and did it but the 3rd part I was getting mad he is really hard and I know my other clan members will not finish him at all there all good players but they will get to mad and just quit.
As for what others here have said and I 100% agree with is they should make all missions co-op or group based atleast then scale it based on group size cause I would to of liked doing the NIM fight with friends that would be cool.
Yea, um... I finally got to Nim last night...
And I beat him first try with an LMG + Overcharge -__-
All these people are talking about needing a strategy, precise weapons, perfect shield... are you kidding me?
The only strategy you need is to spam the evade button. Hell, you don't even need to evade! You can dodge ALL of his attacks by simply running in the opposite direction.
I packed an infector 'just in case' and I didn't even use it. After his attacks he stands still for like 3 seconds before attacking again... when he's standing still.... DOING NOTHING.... Shoot him!
1st phase
I came in expecting the worst, after reading this thread of course, so I was running circles around him at the start... getting his attacks down. After that, I just lit him up. You can kill him with 2 clips of the LMG.
2nd phase
Took me 5 seconds to realize what he was doing... I had recently been watching Naruto, and the first thing I thought of was 'shadow clones' L0L! I just tossed out a grenade to thin them out, watching Nims health bar the whole time. When I would find the real one, I would light him up and when he ran, repeat.
3rd phase
Same as first.

I only died once...there is a strategy to killing him. If you can't get it done maybe you need to reconsider your perk choices and/or level more to unlock a perk slot. I beat it at 550 and in my second try (although i did almost die) Once you hit round 2 or 3 and you die it resets on that round...if it started from scratch I could see the nerf plausible but i think hes fine how he is. I like a challenge not a easy defeat.
I beat him last night, wouldn't say it was super easy though. He is a good example of poor programming. He has the standard 90's boss attack patterns that he repeats BUT to make it difficult he has abilities that can literally kill you in 1 or 2 hits. I'd rather he was clever then just over powered.
My play through took 30 minutes, used a combat shotgun and a spanner. Gun for him Spanner for me (to keep shields and health up)
Circling the boss with a combat Shotgun is not a hard fight.
P1: Circle with Shotgun, dip close to get him to melee and move away circling again while firing. He does his Dragon Ball Z attac, wait for the 3rd-4th-5th time he does it and then when he has a second downtime get off more rounds. Repeat.
P2: Circle with Shotgun, same as P1 without DBZ attack, aim for clones. Shoot clones that have you LOSd and stand behind a pillar.
P3: Repeat P1 pattern, shoot crystals when up and move away from crash attack.
Finally had a block of time to try again today. Took me 1 hour 20 minutes, and I hated every. ****ing. part. of it. I've waltzed through both playthroughs of Borderlands and Borderlands 2, and this fight was easily the worst, most hideously bad and painful grind fight of any shooter I've every played.
I still think he should be nerfed a bit. My hands and fingers are wrecked. They were wrecked at the 45 minute mark.
