    Defiance Crossovers (TV Spoiler Warning)
I was kind of glad to see at least one crossover plot device used in the TV premiere. The crystal that Nolan stole from you at the end of the last ep mission (he gives you his weapon instead) was used to get the Terrasphere at the beginning of the TV ep.

I wonder how much more they can do because San Fran and St Louis are quite a way apart.

P.S. I kind of didn't mind Nolan stealing the crystal because that AR kicks ***.

I feel robbed! First thing I thought when he said how much scrip he could get for that sphere was "WTH! I got screwed out of millions of scrip!"

EDIT: lol "scrib". Guess my "p" decided to stand on its head.:p

If not, they are damned near identical. Remember, the game graphics and the TV show might not line up identical. Look at the Hellbugs for example. The game versions don't look anything like what Nolan went up against in the forest.

Would like Nolan's pistol though. One shot Hellbug killer but low ammo. Would really kick ***.

Oh yeah, one more point regarding the crystal. Varis was giving the team to retrieve it 90k each if I recall correctly. Would point to the fact that it could recoup a lot more scrip (which the Terrasphere would have). I think it was a Votan key of some kind.

    EDIT: I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!! WHOOP!

It was the Libera Nova Gem which came from the mission in the game...

    Quote:

Joshua Nolan and another Ark Hunter find the gem in the Bay Area. Nolan pretends to hand it over the ark hunter but steals it instead. He and Irisa head towards St. Louis, tracking an arkfall which contained the terra-spire they are after, using the gem to retrieve the Terrasphere.
    Sweet!

I don't think those were hellbugs.. hey were something else. The series hellbugs look more like the ones we see in game, based off of a promo video.

At first I thought they were wild POW's (those white pig looking things in the game) but bigger. As far as cross over, the mayor said she was getting ready to meet up with Ara Shandu, so who knows maybe we'll see her in the show in the up coming episodes.

Edit: The only thing I didn't like about the show was the mini spoiler scenes in between commercial. Hopefully that was only for the pilot but damn, that would suck if they did that witch every episode. Every time they'd show it me and my buddy had turn away so we wouldn't know what scene was coming up after the commercial.

No, they are mutated COWs, the POWs. I think the things we saw were some type of wolf/bear mutation. We probablly won't see them in game much since we are not in a very wilderness area in CA. There are bound to be some plants/animals that are different in both show and game because they are very far from each other in different climates.

Nice pickup. I didn't even realise this. Good to know that the show and game do intertwine in more ways that simply the same setting.

It's going to be interesting to see how Trion does this, but I'm sure that even if Irisa and Nolan aren't directly involved in the game, the game world will be shaped by the actions on the show somehow. Otherwise, Trion will be letting a great opportunity slip through their grasp.

This game needs to evolve as the show progresses, otherwise it's hard to see any aspect which will maintain the longevity of the majority of the player base.

Yeah that AR was a nice reward. I ended up salvaging it though as I'd maxed the weapon XP.

That's actually pretty sweet. Just didn't notice it when i saw the real pilot episode(the 15 minute one, not the first actual episode named "Pilot"). And when he was offered the job as Lawkeeper, i couldn't stop thinking that that bastard stole from me ;)

Those "things" definately weren't hellbugs nor pows. Those things were some sort of oversized rodents with 6 or more sharp limbs. When i first saw them, i was like "Whoa! Why didn't we see these ingame?!".

I rather like that it was Armstice day in the show, and now it is in the game too :)

In Game - Pigs + Cows Mutating = POWs?

    In Show - Wolves + Bears Mutating = Wears/Bolves?

I also thought that was the crystal from our Mission. Nice touch but hope there's more/stronger links in future. Also, Defiance better be included in one of the DLCs. I hope they expand the map to biblical proportions!!

Oh man +1 for dlc and expanding the map. I would like to see a bit of a land grab scenario between the differing contract factions. Fighting for them on pvp missions that offer stacking rewards. I really am loving the game and want to see it grow and prosper.

As I watched the first 15 minutes of the show and Nolan used the crystal to get the sphere i literally sat up in my bed, mouth twisted in anger, all I could think was,

"**** you dude, I saved your ***, was expecting 60,000 Scrip, and you buggered off with the crystal. Now you used my payday to get yourself a bigger one and I still get shtacko."

At that very moment I knew this game and television show will have a special place in my heart, and I will be playing and watching for a long long time.

Yeah.. until he used the sphere to protect Defiance. Now, I am ok with it. I am anxious to see how he handles his re-encounter with our characters.

Its awesome, guess when i did the mission, I wasn't paying much attention to the dialogs and scenes so I couldn't remember much. People who watch the shows and found out the game will/might play it if they liked it and vice versa. Nice plan

I saw somewhere regarding the "14-min preview" that the bad things in the forest were "something" wolves, not hellbugs. Apparently the Bay Area does not have these wolves.

In-game, somewhere, I ran across info that most terrestrial farm animals did not weather the terraforming well. Pows are a Votan meat animal that fills the same niche as Pigs and Cows, hence the name, Pows.

Chickens did ok, apparently, but I have not seen or heard a single other terrestrial bird.

Creatures in the forest are saberwolf's: http://en.defiance-wiki.com/wiki/Saberwolf

We will see them in the badlands if we go there (which based on rumours, seems likely)

I believe the correct spelling is Voulge, pronounced Voolj.

BTW, Voulge is a medieval polearm designed to reach over a shield wall and mess people up bad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voulge

Few things I notice which I wish was in game:

    1) All those guns the villagers/nolan were armed with.
    2) A laser switch blade.
    3) Motor bikes. WHERE IS THE MOTORBIKES? Seriously, I saw like 20+ in the episode yet none in the game?! Boo!

Anyways, tie in was brief and lame as I expected.

But it WASN'T brief and lame... You save Nolan and the crystal which ultimately saves Defiance. Can't get much bigger than that.

Maybe somewhere down the line we meet up with Nolan again and he rewards us for saving the town. Now if Nolan can only save us from the deadliest enemy on the planet!... GLITCHES ;)

It will likely be the paid part of the DLC, the motorbikes.

My personal favorite tie in is the hilarity that is Nolan becoming Lawkeeper at the end of the pilot, when his buddy back in Paradise Jon Cooper is constantly whining that he doesn't want the job. I get the feeling that if/when they speak again he's going to be like... "SERIOUSLY DUDE... SERIOUSLY!? You... UGH!" *throws hands in air*
