As a kid I loved the looks of sports cars and the idea of zooming around in them at high rates of speed.....however, as I grew older and more pragmatic, I realized I was becoming much more of a truck guy. I've now gotten to the point where I feel very uncomfortable when "forced" to be in a car, even as a passenger, after driving trucks for so long. I'm also of the mind, especially when seeing post apocalyptic scenarios presented, that trucks are far more useful and would actually get you where you need to go much quicker. Yeah, they don't go as fast, but they can go many places cars cannot and don't get stuck nearly as easily......kind of comparable to the story of the tortoise and the hair. I'm not telling that long story, look it up if you're not familiar with it....lol
Oh, to the point of the thread, I have a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer with about 50K miles, an offroad package and all wheel drive, with tow-package and winch. The winch is the only mod I've made to it, it needed nothing of significance beyond that. My back-up vehicle is a Harley Davidson...
