I know, i wish it wasn't true, but it did. I am.
Its everything I could want in a sci fi show, plus I get to play along side it in a game.
Too cool.

i don't understand what is wrong with being a 'fanboy"
is it so wrong to enjoy, and subsequently develop an emotional interest, and investment in a game you find fun????
on a side note the show is quite amazing despite bad cgi, and game is quite amazing despite its bugs.
Fanboy/girl-ism is irrational and detrimental to the health of a product or brand, as they turn off normal fans. They're a scourge who won't hear a single bad thing about their product, will spin anything negative as a positive, and basically don't live in the same reality as the rest of us. It's horrible and we need less of it.
I really wanted to like the show, so my view may be a little skewed, but there were a handful of flaws to include repeated/mediocre CGI shots and some relatively ackward bits that just made me cringe. The 3+ minute singing in the car section "Look look! bonding experiences!" the sex scene with ridiculous music and speed that made it seem like the show itself felt ackward about it and wanted it over as quickly as possible, and of course the little teen romance bit.
But that aside, very solid show, I look forward to the next.
I felt the slow dancing was more awkward than the sex scenes. So painful.
I was just about to make a thread, too... The show is so good! I want this game and the show to do amazing!
I think with the show you have to look deeper than the spoty cgi. Personaly i found it to be alot more focused on the everyday drama's unfolding in the defiance world. Wich to me makes it alot more interesting. Speacil effects are all good and flashy but its the relation of the people and thier stories i enjoy in any movie/show.
Just my oppion on it .
Thought the episode was awesome. Made me want to play the game more. I hope they can continue to make more episodes as great! Bravo!
Its cheesy in some places, but thats old school sci fi.
Just having a blast with the whole thing.
The game has major flaws, but my fanboyism is getting in the way of me caring. Hate both the game and show all you want, I wont try and convince you otherwise. But I will be over here enjoying this cross-media fun.
The song moment to me seemed important to shine some light on the Nolan and Irisa relationship as it shows Nolan trying to be a father towards his stoic and rage filled daughter. When she won't speak or look at him he starts up a song and begins singing it like he has probably done countless times since her childhood to cheer her up and make her less angry at him for his stupid mistakes xD
You just described what it is to be a fan. There's nothing wrong with being a fan of something. Being a fanboy though, is frowned upon. Fanboys usually attack anybody that doesn't enjoy their object of worship as much as they do. Fanboys are the complete opposite of trolls/haters, and just as negative. People wanting to participate in a community, end up having to wade through all the garbage spewed back and forth between fanboys and trolls.
I am a fanboy as well. The show was done in traditional SyFy fashion.
I really hope the show and Game do amazing
fanboi = not spamming the forums with hate.
Ive been called a fanboi for games I don't even play just for acting normal with discussion.
Theres nothing wrong with being a fanboi, the only time its bad is when you get people who lie about the game in an attempt to trick people into playing..
Really the fanboi term is just the foundation for ad hominem attacks, which is a method of attacking the person rather than what is being said, in order to nullify the message. Its often the only way to combat someone being truthful with a truth you dislike. More often its used in politics..and yes game opinion has become more like politics which is unfortunate.
There is difference between a fanboy and a regular fan. Even regular fans (not just video games) do not like fanboys mostly because they are completely blind to any faults or shortcomings of whatever it is that they worship.
It is not so evident here but if you check sites like IMDB you would know. Some crazy fan boys obsessed with celebrities put regular fans to shame.
The Show was Awesome. ;)
The dad/daughter relationship is awesome. Thats what sealed the deal for me.
All of you are crazy. I'm going to Jackson.
Needs more hellbugs!
Indeed it was like the topics about Stahma last night where people were all "Oooo she is the real evil queen of defiance". Then others like me payed more attention to how she acted and less to her words and she seemed to be faking the evil at parts to change her husbands mind but thats people for you as Samara says "If three humans are in a room you will have six opinions." lol
MEEE TOOO!!!! ^u^ THE SHOW WAS AWEOSME
well im a fan and i have no qualms about saying if something is wrong with the game or show...i think being a fan is 1 of those " you have to roll with the punches " kinda things...i hate some of the notorious bugs in the game but im a huge fan of it...i think there's a big difference between a fan and a fanatic, i think the 1s you guys are talking about are fanatics lol...kinda like those stupid religious fanatics who think there's nothing that could be possibly wrong with their religion but there's always something wrong with everyone elses...so yeah, fanatics = bad , fans = good lol
I think I like the show more than the game.
Also, when The Ink Spots came on.....I lost it.
I have 3 of their albums on VINYL!
Me too. Great song choice. The show and game are amazing and both put together are even better.
The CGI in the show isn't "terrible" but the creatures and vehicles look too unrealistic even for a scifi show. The CGI landscapes in the show however are gorgeous. There were some parts that looked like they had too much "fake" in them and I couldn't even tell what I was looking at. Other than those minor flaws the show is great. The pilot episode managed to keep me entertained for two hours (The best pilot I think I have ever seen) and developed all the main characters personalities and made me feel for the characters.
The game is awesome. I have already beat the main story and prologue for the TV show and it is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The problem is the complaints. Since this MMO is also on consoles, players are not used to the downtime and bugs right after launch because not a lot of MMO's are on consoles. This launch wasn't the smoothest one I've ever been through but it definitely wasn't the worst. There were some people complaining on here about not being able to log on too and I got on just fine a few seconds later so I'm assuming a lot of the "bugs" people are reporting are actually their own problem with bad internet.
My type of fanboism is seeing and acknowledging the issues, but just not caring about them.
You can hate all you want on the show or game, I wont try to change your opinion. Ill tell you when you're being a little rage monkey that loves to whine tho.
