I too have a hard time understanding the yuppies who are flaming/ranting about things not being addressed within some obscure time line that they see is reasonable but in reality it flat out isn't.
People need to have more patience when games come out. Specially games that are on going and have no end. IE MMO's.
We all know they will patch things up to make a smooth game.
We all know that new content will be released over a timeline the company see's fit.
We all know that our feedback will be at minimum reviewed and looked at.
So whats the beef? I'm with the OP on the old days you either went to a friends house who had the game to see if you wanted a copy for yourself. Or you waited to rent it before buying.
If the game wasn't something you liked you just didn't buy it.
Today, technology has changed but our expectations shouldn't.
We should expect to get what we get when they release a new game. If the game is flawed in some way we should expect that the company will address these issues as they see fit.
If they don't see it fit to address the issues and just ignore you (cough Blizzard) then your complaints are valid.
People who are complaining 2 weeks out have nothing to complain about. You need to relax and respect those who have been working really REALLY hard to get their game out and working.
Its a sign of respect to allow for those who do this for a living to review the request changes, identified bugs, or glitches people report and have time to work on them.
All the complainers are people who don't understand the behind the scenes process for game design and it shows when they can't even wait for a patch which has to be pushed back 24 hours. Seesh.
But forums have been since their conception for a place for people who would rather piss and moan about something obscure so other pissers and moaners can rally behind them so they all can have a piss party.
But hey, thats the internet i suppose. The rest of us who have patience and understand the work that it takes to create a game and support one shows in those who try to bring reason to the mob. Sometimes people are just unreasonable. I blame their parents.
