Anyone else depressed with Ark falls in game after watching the show?
Just watched the show on DVR today, and I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but is anyone else a bit depressed with how arkfalls play out in game compared to what was depicted in the show? I know I was.

It seems like Trion took something that could have been really epic & awesome, and instead turned it into a loot pinata. Instead of how they are now, they could have been made into little mini-dungeons, or a scavenger hunt through a hulking wreck. Anything other than what they are now.

A lot of the Arkfalls don't even seem to really make sense in the game. What do the giant hellbugs & what not have to do with Arkfalls? Am I tearing open the corpse of the hellbug queen after the arkfall, and pulling out a Terasphere?

Just really seems like trion dropped the ball with this one.

Hellbugs are a bit of a mystery, but what is known is that they crave ark tech for some unknown reason. That is from my understanding of the lore, but to answer your questions... Yep. This is the first real disappointment with the game that I have had so far, but I can live with it.

A scavenger hunt through a mini dungeon with 100 people in it? Trying to visualize the cluster**** that would be and coming up short.

Depressed? No. Just hopeful for the future and the awesome possibilities it might bring. ;)

I would like to see Arkfalls that look more like lumps of actual ships, maybe even with climbable bits and the like. Not full on dungeons, per say, just enough to jump up on and poke around in. That would be cool.

Having said that, I would love it if we had some collossal events where massive chunks come down and pulverise much bigger areas. I don't imagine they would work as day-to-day Arkfalls, but as special events or the like, it could be awesome (kind of like the Hemadion event in City of Heroes.... and apologies if I have spelled that wrong.)

I would be awesome if arkfalls lead to dungeons that you could do either by yourself or with a group.

Nah they could have instanced the "mini-dungeons" but yes programing and logistically on Trion's end this would be incredibly difficult. Understanding why it is not what it is does not make me wish it is what it could have been... Wow... Even typing that sentence made my brain hurt a little.

They eat the crystals that form around the ark tech.

    esc - space - intel - videos - hellbugs

tells you pretty much everything about most races, mystery solved! :P

I think that what we are seeing in game are small arkfalls, not the really big kind that was displayed at beginning of show. I may be wrong, but I bet we eventually get to see some big ones.

all we get is very unnatural - not only aint they usually a pile of junk or crystals - they always magically have same pattern and major ones fall in a perfect circle with some boss in the middle.

Nothing "magical" or uncertain or random.

Arkfalls are literally falling pieces of Ark ships. They could do any thing they want with it. They could have a buried Ark ship if they want.
A time traveling Ark ship, that sends you to a different time randomly when you enter the area of effect. Whatever.

I can understand why we have the arkfalls in game we have now, but I hope that in a later DLC we get some more unique arkfalls similar to what came down in the show. Cause that would be jekkin awesome.

Be sick if they set up weekly arkfalls. Like once a week they would plan a huge, giant arkfall that a ton of people could get in on. Almost a weekly reason for EVERYBODY to play at that time. I can see the servers hating it, but it would be fun times.

Some form of instanced run through the wreck of a Arkship would be epic.

Yea Ark falls are cheap . I wish they made a more similar system a la Rift where mobs were invading the land .

Yeah the Arkfalls in the game pale in comparison to the one shown in that first episode. Would be amazing if there could be like a special Arkfall which would involve going inside a crashed Ark. Get on it Trion! ;)

LOL, mini dungeons would be counter to the idea of everyone getting involved at once.

I know. It's kind of like busting your butt to do a lot of damage and kill things and then get a lame Cracker Jack prize at the end...like a fake tattoo that smudges.

I would have to agree with u on this!! I think some sorta dungen would have been epic but there would prob b more lag in a setting like that with as many people there are around an Arkfall

They do need to add more arkfall events if they're going to promote them like this. We're still missing raider/99er/mutant/Dark Matter events.

I wish they would make the Arkfalls like how the ending of the show was. To me that was one of the most epic scenes I have seen in awhile and that would have been a perfect way to connect us to the actual series. In a sense, but that is just my personal opinion :)

why not an arkfall event where players SHOULD protect the crystal for hungry hellbug attackers or looting raiders, kind of like a Horde mode?

50 players fending off 20 Monarchs..... spells like a G-R-I-N-D.

After seeing the pilot, it wouldn't surprise me if something like that wasn't in the works.

An XCOM ship where they spawn a huge mass of geomotry, into the world. And not instance it off would be pretty cool, also very unique. It could also end in an explosion that blows up, resulting in the destruction of said ship. And removing the mass from the world. I do not know how their engin works, so I do not know if this is posible. Their ground/floor geomoty might be buffered, and delt with diffrently then their NPC/Object Geomotry. Also they might have a limit on how big objects, or how many poloygons can be used on a model.

You are talking about major arkfalls. There already are minor 99er/mutant/raider arkfalls

So far we've seen one, ONE arkfall in the show. Then there is the mention of razor rain, which is probably arkfall debris raining down on earth from the arkbelt. There is one old already scavenged arkfall close to the bug & chug however. That's the one we saw in the latest video, or at least one looking exactly like it. An entire spaceship falling down however is probably extremely rare to see falling down.

OK, they're different than the image of arkfalls in the TV programme but I quite enjoy the arkfalls in game. I wouldn't mind a bit more interesting loot than the grenades I seem to always get but I wouldn't want them to take these arkfalls away.

Adding other forms/variety of arkfalls would be a nice option.

Still don't understand why half the arkfalls need to be blown up while the other half blow up on their own after you kill the three waves of mobs.
