Orange items is true. The rest is false. Your can get good weapons from faction vendors, spawned vendors, even rare drops in Co-ops. I suppose it depends on your definition of a good weapon though. There is very little overall difference between a white and a even purple weapon in this game. Each 'color tier' adds a 'extra' bonus to a weapon, and those bonuses are frequently not worth the trouble. Synergy only matters if you slot synergy mods, and then if you are slotting syn mobs before you max your weapon skill with a given weapon in my opinion you are a masochist. You don't NEED orange weapons.. in fact, they are really only good once you don't need to raise skills anymore.. prior to that you can get away with using greens even and do fine regardless of what you are doing.

OMG GAMMIT, the horror, they want you to play the game to earn keys to earn gear..... What is wrong with them... my eyes.... oh what a world, what a world.

I already said it before, drive around and you'll get keys, do pvp you'll get keys, do mini events you'll get keys? How did they make keys harder to get, because they removed mini events during major arkfalls? Here goes an idea, the map has loads of areas where mini events take place. If you see a major ark fall, head in the other direction and get your keys.

You act as though they are making you get 1 key every day or something. You can earn loads of keys driving around the roads and stopping to do events.

you can still max out your keys in a short time. on a serious or non serious grind lol. sell crap loot for arc salvage, then for keycodes. that is a much faster way than doing missions anyway. stop making stupid threads to go along with what everybody else says. they didnt patch the game to make it go toward pay-to-win. if that were the case then they would have got rid of buying codes for salvage. that being said they did take 1 way of getting codes so the drop rate of better gear should be increased in boxes imo. but you can still get keycodes/lock boxes without paying. stop crying

Yeah I read the original post.... Key cards got taken out of emergency events... which they haven't, I have done mini events and have gotten key cards. The only way mini events are fewer is by removing them from Ark Fall areas, which are pretty obvious on the main map, if you want to "grind keys' go somewhere an Ark Fall event isn't. I heard San Fran has tons of mini events nobody does.

As for loot being reduced, I'm not quite sure I understand, did they change the 2 for tier 2, 3 for tier 3 and 4 for tier 4 model. I didn't notice it in the patch notes. As for the outfits, they are totally optional, the game needs money as well. The developers don't work for free, the servers don't stay up for free, the lights don't get paid for free.... etc etc etc. I noticed them introducing 2 new pursuits and like 2 new outfits in those episode pursuits (although the one can't be finished due to capture and hold being disabled)

How did they patch the game to make more money? Are you angry because you need to actually do other things than drive around Mount Tam doing mini easy mini events and milking keys? Go do something else, enjoy the game.

Which events did you get keys from, and how many? I mainly did hellbugs, raiders and 99ers around Marin/Sausalito last night, with a wandering hulker thrown in, and did not receive any.

Yeah, recoil reduction by 15%, increase of rocket launcher ammo by 600%, detonator aoe radius increase by up to 0.60, rate of fire increse (which directly translates into +% DPS) or 15% grenade recharge are really not that desireable.
Of course there is the fun and frequent "res proc" as well, but that is the only exception that has no use.

While I agree that orange is a bonus and the ultimate goal, purple is the baseline where a gun becomes more than a throw away item to train weapon skills. Even the leap from green to blue can be significant if the bonus is good, a RoF increase and useful [1] synergy raise efficiency very effectively.

None of the emergencies award key fragments anylonger, consider them removed from the game for all intents and purposes.

Maybe because most People that are upset here (me included) want to just play and enjoy the game! Instead of mindlessly grinding the same thing over and over to scrape enough keys together for a single Lock Box?! /facepalm

Before the patch, you could get keys at a fairly decent rate by just playing the game and doing various Things at random.
Now they took it away and force you into to grind to obtain the keys and thus made the game less fun to play! It is simple as that!

Just because some Jack arses found a way to exploit mini events and grind these endlessly for hours a day to obtain lots of keycodes! Doesn't mean everyone was doing it!
Instead of all out removing keys from mini events and so punishing the majority of the playerbase! They could have put a diminishing Return of key drops in mini events, when someone decides to grind them!
That would have been a far better solution!

Or have you forgotten that over a week ago they also did all out blanket nerf on loot drops in the world?!
Just because a few individuals found an exploit in mini events (same thing) they just blanket nerfed the loot drops through the entire game! /Facepalm

They just turned this game in a terrible boring grindfest!

Hellbug events give out keys, the other events even before the patch were sketchy with keys. I doubt they removed the keys as I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the patch notes, if the keys aren't dropping it was either a bug to begin with or an intentional error due to the patch. Such as Dark Matter and any mini events in San Fran I got zero keys prior to the patch.

Most raider events I got no keys prior to the patch, most 99er events I got no keys prior to the patch. The only events I seemed to get keys with consistently was the hellbug events.
