I encourage anyone who hasn't, to go watch the Gamespot footage from today! It is amazing! Lot of my questions were answered, I'm gonna pay off my preorder and save for possibly getting the collectors edition. Night time looks sweet and exciting, too much cool stuff to go into detail about.

Beta, alpha, what ever it looks like ps2 in that video. I know this isnt "represenative" of the final game and glad of it lol. Or after paying for the Ultimate Collectors Editon, ALOT of people would be TICKED off lol. Cant wait to play it on launch day.
Thanks for the link. Just watched the whole thing and found it very encouraging, Being played on the 360 i was very impressed with the smoothness of that Arkfall. Must have been a good 20-30 people on screen all firing crazy weapons and didn't see any slow down or other issues at all. My optimism and excitement just keeps on growing. Roll on April.
I actually thought the graphics were quite good considering what the game is doing. And I agree Renegade, I was worried about 15 or more players on screen at once but it looked really smooth and fun. I'm loving the day night cycle.
For me graphics are a complete non issue. Most of the games at the top of my all time fave list look awful by today's standard anyway. All about gameplay and enjoyment factor for me.
Although i do agree with BKB, I personally didn't think they were bad at all.
Ive alot of faith too, especially if TW pumps out content as fast as they did in Rift, it changed alot during first year. 1 year down the line we can look at totally different game.
There's no PS2 game that looks as good as Defiance does, and it's a massive mmo. Somethings have to give.Quote:

I've been playing MMO's for several years now,(WoW,DCUO,CoH) and this ISNT normal. And a console CAN run a MMO just fine, my PS3 has no issues graphicaly at all with DCUO for 2+years now.Even with near 100 people in a all out PVP war in the streets of Gotham( using various powersets like fire, ice, nature, Green and yellow lanterns, etc etc). As I said originaly this is still beta/alpha, etc. And a final polish will be added.
Im sure we have nothing to worry about. And all of these issues could very well be due to the streams video compression causing pixelation. Either way, Im going to play it every chance I get away from work or when the wifes sleeping lol. See you guys in game. MAN I just realised the beta for PS3 goes live the same day and rough time I will be getting my Walking Dead:Survival instincts game.. lol. For a fan of TWD franchise for the past 10 years( and owner of 102 of the 106+ issues) this game is a big deal for me lol.
the video isnt very clear even in HD lots of pixelation and break-down makes it look like a xbox/ps2 game.but still good to see the xbox version in play.and with all those people too.
