Show to Game Locations?!?

So I understand this season that the game and show are going to be pretty separate because the first season has already been shot but if the show continues after this season, which I truly hope it will, how are they going to bring the locations together?!?
I understand the whole earth was terraformed hardcore but that won't put St. Louis right next to the Bay Area would it? I guess I will just have to wait and see, what are your thoughts? Does anyone know something I don't and I just need to go read into a bit more?
