No. Its not got anyone talking because area chat is 20 feet radius or something stupid. So it wouldnt make any difference. Except to lag everyone out.

As long as I can turn all these requested features off, I'm good to go. I'm not a fan of chat in general, and I especially don't like chat bubbles. They're fine when you want them but they're a great annoyance when you don't.

Bubbles would probably get annoying, especially at arkfalls.

The only real fix the chat system needs (imo) is that it needs something lik a per zone chat, not the horrendous close proximity garbage that it is now. Also it would help to make the chat box a bit bigger like in most other MMOs, and have text not disappear too quick.

I was surprised Trion released with the chat in this state, it's not like this is something new to them. I'm assuming they wanted to push voice chat as being the standard in this game, but it's just not working imo.

remember when swtor didn't have chat bubbles?


one of the reasons the game lost 1.5 million players within a few months was because of the overhwelming feeling of the game being singleplayer due to lack of decent chat functionality, inlcuding chat bubbles.

andbefore people start qqing about chat bubble spam, the vast majority of mmo's with chat bubbles are not like SWG chat bubbles.

Speech bubbles would be nice and would help a lot but the game would look a bit odd, I couldn't see the game with it. I agree that it should but as for how it could comply with the look and feel of the game idk. I would say give a test and see how it works

agree 100 % this game has to have world chat/chat bubble ... this game is no fun solo to be honest I am fed up with this game already .. as for voice chat I hate it .. the other day im in instance with 4 people and one was munching crisps/chips . give us world chat like most of the mmo s out there ?? why did world of warcraft work so well ?? because it had a good social community .. and had lots for everyone to do :) its not all about graphics and stupid story videos .... that's how starwars failed :) now im of to play some gw2 Where I can chat to people when I playing online :) no chat may aswell play a offline game

another thing that would help alongside speech bubbles is having the option to toggle name plates to always be on, instead of the current on mouse over only.
