With all due respect to the few fanboys left out there, and dont get me wrong, I personally like the game, however with that being said, I feel that review is spot on. The game is repetitive, full of bugs, the graphics dont work correctly, and the content that is there can be blown through in a matter of a few hours. And now with the whole hack that someone made for the PC version, the games major redeeming quality is not worth playing anymore either.

I mean, when you look at it objectively, I really cant understand what makes this game even worth playing. What can you get from this game that you couldnt get from the host of other free-to-play MMOs out there? What kind of hook does this game possess that makes it worth coming back for after more then 2 days of play time?

Say what you will of IGN, I dont think too highly of them either, but that is in fact an accurate review. Personally, I think a 5.5 was being generous.

That's more of a problem that the game is too easy right now. If/when heroic/hard mode difficulty is added, then the differences will become relevant. Its just like in WoW how easy instances you simply pull all the mobs and AE them down, not paying attention to the mechanics, but when you play heroics you start having to interrupt effects, CC mobs, etc.

I saw the review preview videos from the guy and he had made up his mind long before he started playing. He did the same for Diablo 3. Not exactly an objective reviewer.

That said, this game lacks "meaningful" content for something that wants people keep playing and it lacks polish in many many things which leads to some real frustration.

I wouldn't rate this game any higher than a 7.5/10. It would be an 8.5 if it had the polish hopefully it will achieve after some much needed patches.

People still treat IGN(orance) with legitimacy?

I'm waiting for when they kick the bucket and stop having such a poisonous effect on the legitimate gaming industry.
There are great games and developers who suffer because they didn't give IGN ransom to bribe them from intentionally writing a bad review.

    Completely agree with this.

So what about the countless other sites and people who give this game 5 or 6/10? IGN is just 1 of a handful of reviewers giving this game similar reviews.

I agree completely. In the game's current state, it truly doesn't deserve anything over a 5. IGN was in fact quite generous.

I should point out IGN gives rating based on the quality of Advertising revenue, so 5.9 means Trion didn't spend all that much putting ads on IGN.

Since they paid so much more for Rift ads, Trion must not have cared about reviews that much.
