My daughter and I want to cosplay Nolan and Irisa for some upcoming comic cons. Anyone know the manufacturer of Nolans leather jacket? or any jacket close to it? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!

Can't hurt to ask, yeah?
Thanks for all the input. Should be a fun search
We have a Defiance cosplay group with some of the people how work on costume on set on Defiance if you want to join the link is https://www.facebook.com/groups/DefianceDragoncon/. Dragoncon is our big meetup event but we have conventions we go to all over. And tons of reference pictures and help guides.
good luck creating defiance costumes, here's some inspiration for you of a great starwars cosplay:

Based on a quick google search, the jacket was custom made so no manufacturer.
But also if you do a google search of "defiance-grant-bowler-chief-lawkeeper-jeb-nolan-leather-jacket"
It should pop up as the first listing. It's a bit pricey, but don't know what your budget is, also if that would work, could probably use it as a fall/winter coat as well to help justify the price.
I've seen some really good cosplay for Defiance posted around the web. The Irathient prosthetic seems quite easy to pull off and your Casti work looks great as well. Keep up the good work!
We had a convention in Paris this week-end and two members of the forum were cosplaying an Irathian and a Human Arkhunter. They made a topic in the French section of this forum and it's here.
I've got the jacket -wwII bomber jacket (Dad's from the 8th AAC) what I need is Irisa's outfit for my granddaughter (she's nine)
Why not make Irisa's outfit sans jacket? You see her alot without it.

I will cosplay Charlie just stand there and do nothing and let you drive over me
Check out frightfulacts.com they do custume costumes and masks
tomorrow, i'm gonna take a few pics of the jacket with me on the economy here in korea. i know several old korean guys that can make some pretty awesome custom made stuff. will let you folks know of the progress ^_^ one thing i noticed with the jacket, is that it seem that the sleeves and bottom piece below the waist can be taken off to make it the vest. anyone agree?
funny enough, i already have the drop holster as it is the one i use for deployments. i will have to get it dyed, though. being a tanker, we have a thing for wearing leather
from what i see of the boots, you will be able to find them at any army surplus store, as they seem to be the basic issue summer boot. at first i thought they were the older style cavalry boots, but upon closer inspection it is the summer acu boot with leather leggings on top
ok, I cannot be 100% sure about this until we get access to a prop master over at Sy-Fy for an evening and are able to accurately pick their brain for details, but from what I can observe through production stills and images plastered over the intrawebz...
Nolan's jacket is a modified tan bomber style women's motorcycle jacket. (men's cycle jackets predominately feature zippers, where the women's styles favor toggle style leather buttons. This is not the norm by any means, but some designers think that women's leather jackets look better with toggles or buttons instead of zippers....go figure.)
he wore this basic style up until around epi 6 or 7, when the costume set shop modified it further, by ripping out the bottom hem of the original jacket, and sewing on another 12 to 14 inches off of another similar colored jackets hem.
"How do you know it's a motorcycle jacket?" you ask?
easy......look at the elbows. on most motorcycle jackets (except the classic style black biker jackets) the elbows are reinforced with padding and elaborate stitching to protect the riders from impact and road rash.
the addition of the extra length to the jacket in later episodes could be attained by finding a matching leather jacket in a peacoat style and attatching the two together.
apparently, they have more than one style of jacket for Nolan in the show (sneaky prop shop.....like we wouldn't notice)
for action scenes, the go with the straight tan bomber style cycle jacket with the epaulets.
for non action scenes, the go with the modified duster jacket made out of two jackets sewn together to make him appear more swarthy.
and then they have a "special needs" jacket made for his character.
so far, I've spotted about 3 (not too sure about the 4th style yet) different jackets they stuff him into.
so Op, my best suggestion for you that will not totally break your bank in the process, is to either go to your nearest military surplus shop, discount leather coat shop, or other such jacket warehouse, and look for a light tan bomber style motorcycle jacket......then take it home and beat the hades out of it, sandpaper it a bit in places, scuff it around the edges a bit......
if you have near unlimited funds, buy that and another longer style jacket and sew the two together for that urban badarse wasteland mid trench jacket.
but the simple answer for you is the standard light tan itialian bomber style motorcycle jacket, or nearest equivalent that can be easily modified.
couple that with a tan jungle shirt, a pair of kahki sniper pants, combat boots, a couple of military surplus urban leg pistol holders, a combat belt, and a white tank scarf....well, you'll be looking more like Nolan than you would admit.
as far as arisa is concerned.....most of her gear is heavily modified from it's original garment. the only 2 stock standard items I could recommend to you is the burgundy linen pirate/poet shirt she wears in the game, and the heavily distressed sweater she is seen wearing in the show....it exists, though I don't know the name of it off hand....my boss came in wearing the same sweater, but in a light blue color scheme (gotta ask her who the manufacture was, but I suspect it's either a JC penny item, or other such boutique item.) for everything else, it a matter of modifying olive combat pants, gun holsters, a web belt, throwing knives, and building that hip hugger leg holster rig.....good luck.

edit:
found it.... for most stock footage Nolan is wearing a vintage WWII UK military issue motorcycle jacket (RAF flight jacket?). go figure, the actor is British after all. just slap on a leather aviator cap and goggles, and a pair of spats, and he would look like a time traveler.....
Those unstyled wigs cannot be found anywhere. You guys can only restyle a synthetic wig.

I've never bought from them so I cannot comment on the integrity of their salesmanship
I picked up a great lawkeeper cosplay badge on Ebay like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181496962834
I'm traveling the week of Halloween and need to finish my Nolan outfit too. I have boots, pants and the jacket. Next up is painting a nerf gun to be convincing.
Cheers!
