Remove EGO powers from PVP

Your going to die in the game, duh. But a 2k EGO level should not be playing with lower levels, they have stronger weapons and shields. Think of borderlands(if you played it), when you dueled someone with a higher level, what happened? YOU LOST! Do it with someone that's close to your ranking and it'll be a better chance and a fairer fight.

i agree, but i think they should make pve and pvp separate, so you rank up your gear differently in pvp than pve. that way pve guns could slightly get better as you rank up and it wouldn't effect pvp.

Remove EGO powers for MP, do the Echelon even have EGO from a story perspective?

I just did my first Shadow War last night since launch, and I have to say, I had some serious fun. 5 Kills, 3 deaths, 5 assists. Not too bad for a rusty PvP'er using a VoT Blast Rifle (with fire nano) and a infector.

I did notice something however...

The little bugs from the infector, they see through cloak in PvP. Of my 3 deaths, 2 where by vehicles, which really stunk. the 3rd.. shottie in the back of the head. But that was ok with me.. since the cut screen at the end shows you who hit you and how. Wasn't too hard to go back in, find the guy as he was waiting for cloak to recharge, and flat out PWN him in seconds. It's a bit of give and take, but it IS do-able to defeat cloak.. you just have to have the right situation. Fire works.. sticky grenades work.. explosions work.. bugs from infectors work. Now, does that mean someone can't still use that tactic... nope, sure doesn't. But frankly.. I hooked up with a guy on my team using a sniper rifle and decoy.. I covered his six as we defended one of the points.. and when the guy with the shotgun got me.. He instantly switched to a handgun and killed him. Wow.. tactics tactics TACTICS all over the place that work. And I even went in with two RIDICULOUSLY UNDERPOWERED weapons (AR Skill at 6, Infector still at 4).. and STILL had a good time, still racked up kills, and still have more rust to knock off the ole PvP joints.

I personally think the VEHICLES shouldn't be in PvP, or at least no vehicle damage. But if I do recall, destroying a vehicle is part of a quest, so I don't see that being changed.

Except the gear progression in defiance was specifically made in such a way that it wouldnt mather much what level you are.
So thats a really bad comparrison, defiance has similarities to borderlands, but that is not one of them.

The whole cloak / shotgun thing is ridiculous and nerfing sawed off shotguns didnt do anything but piss off pve'rs that already knew it sucked.

The only way i can see to fix it is just remove the powers, keep the perks obviously, but that would fix it.

lore wise call it ego interference or something i dont care, but seems like the only people enjoying pvp are the cloakers.

I have a build where every "full reload" of my sawed off gives 35% ego cool down, and as you can imagine, every reload is a full reload. That being said, I'm cloaked for literally 85% of every match I'm in.
Want to know something funny though? I average between 7-10 kills with maybe 3 or 4 deaths each time. You can't deal with people that are only cloaked sometimes, yet players are constantly managing against me while I'm cloaked for entire games.

As it's been said, you need to adapt instead of complaining.
And last time I checked cloak was available to all, if it's some kind of god mode to you, then use it yourself.

Nope, but you're overlooking the fact that you're not controlling an average Echelon soldier, it's still your character.

That way nobody can move / dodge or use anything for cover and people who are better at those things will have no advantage over those who arent.

His idea to remove abilities isn't a bad one considering it will remedy the fact that PvP is dominated by Cloak usage. Is it fun to play matches where 90% of the players are running around invisible? If you don't join them you end up spending your whole time trying to counter them. That's not balance.
