I was able to complete the mission twice using this method (two separate accounts, my friend could not complete it after several hours as well).

    Good luck!

Thank you BubbaKeg, and that's awesome you could help your friend!

the g13 has a decent "nub" you can map to your WASD, and would also have the advantage of doing pre-recorded macros for certain repeat functions, like loadout changes or chat messages. would save a lot of the pecking at the keyboard. I had a friend who had no real hand motor control, she had to use a pencil in her mouth to type, was causing some serious back problems.

Can't say how useful this would be for you, but it's PC and 360, so it should work no problem, if not, there's software you can use to force it to work with defiance - i use x360ce.

Not the perfect solution, but, in the long run, it might help you out for other games as well.

I was having real issues with this until by chance I tried a rocket launcher I happened to be carrying - one shot anywhere near the little flamer dudes and they burst in to flames and go running. Then switched to AR for the trash/boss kills (usually use a shotgun but wanted accuracy at range for the boss.)

Good Luck and sorry to hear Trion have been such *******s about it.

When I did the mission I failed a few times because I too had trouble shooting at their backs. I eventually got frustrated and melee'd one. Unlike other Smelters in Defiance, in this mission when you melee a smelter they fall flat on their stomachs and give you a second or two to shoot the packs on their back. It's the easiest way I found to do it other than to use flash grenades.

Yes it's terrible. I think that Trion needs to make a public apology to the community and then do something to help you out. They're basically saying, "Oh well, if you can't play it like everyone else, don't expect us to help you..."

Oddly enough, Acti/blizz, even though they're such an anathema today, they used to be a great gaming company way back when.

Shame on Trion. You should be so ashamed of your most terrible and reprehensible behaviour towards handicapped people playing your game!

No problem. If an evil company can do something like this, then Trion, which is supposed to be a "good" bunch of ppl. But OBVIOUSLY we now see their "TRUE COLOURS." Just disgusts me...

didnt go through all the posts, but if you are able to melee the mob it knocks them over onto their face so that you can shoot the backpack thing they have on. let me know how it goes!
