Trion Worlds, I Challenge You

I personally had no issues completing this misson, but i think that Solo Missons in a game that wants to ticket itself in anyway as an MMO is a complete pile of S***. If someone is struggling with a misson due to whatever reasons they should be able to have others come in, this is one of the biggest backbones on an MMO.

I dont care if Trion stated this is primarily a 3rd Person Shooter than an MMO. Once you tie MMO to a title it requires social interaction, and solo missons should be thrown completely out of the window at that point.

For another suggestion for something to try, Decoy will help to turn the mobs exposing their back, unfortunately this is another long cooldown.

Even SWTOR, touted as an MMO but plays more like a single player game, can have multiple ppl in personal instances to help you if you're struggling.

I want to thank everyone who posted here and sent me pm's about this. I wrote this thread hoping to bring this issue to the eyes of anyone who can make a difference and it was a high hope.

You are a great community of gamers and I thank you for not flaming me to shreds about this. The internet can be a scary place sometimes, thank you for making this experience less horrifying.

We're all gamers. We're playing a game together, we should have fun together. It's as simple as that and nothing should stand above this. If all odds break, no one is hurt if this fight is either made easier (since you're not the only one struggling), or if Trion helps you somehow to beat it. Still, an official response to this would be nice.

Is it just me or is anyone else just pissed the hell off that (big) gaming companies can just feed the gaming community with misleading information and then “get” us to buy a sub par piece of garbage?? SWTOR, TERA Online, TSW, GW2, etc… Something REALLY needs to be done already. I think the main problem is the fact that these gaming companies are just not held accountable for these practices – not regulated by Congress or any other countries’ legislative bodies like other industries are. Perhaps it’s time that we, the gaming community, start speaking up and demanding excellence and not accepting garbage. Why should we drop $60 for a piece of halfassed crap? It just seems to me that the current trend is for large gaming companies to crap out garbage, supply misinformation in their advertising and then when we get excited and “open it up,” we accept it and explain it away as, “oh, it was just released.” Or “Oh, well, there are a few bugs but it’s ok, they’re ‘working’ on it.” That’s why there is a “closed beta” as part of the SDLF (Software Development Life Cycle) to iron out this stuff. I have a Masters in Information Security and if anyone tried to pass off software without going through the proper testing, they would be out of work faster than a Quantum computation.

But these are my thoughts on this issue and I’m sure there are other ppl just as “annoyed,” to say the least, about this. Even fanbois will grow tired after defending the company that they love and see they receive no love in return….

I used the melee and shot to the gas tank trick. Sounds like other folk figured out even easier strategies. I hope you manage to get past this mission at its current difficulty.

You had a response from Trion. It was honest and fair.

Please don't think I'm attacking you by backing up Trion here. I'm not.

One reason these rules exist and one reason these rules are no barrier to success.

That's too bad, because it seems one person ruined it for people with real disabilities. If Trion needed proof im disabled, I have loads and loads. I've had 30 surgerys already during my lifetime and so many Dr's reports and photographs and xrays to prove it. I am shocked that one person would do such a horrible thing and in doing so turn people cold to helping someone in true need.

As for success, like I said, I've lived this way my whole life, I'm no failure. I simply know how to ask for help when I need it.

Me too (both stuck at work and rooting). Ironhands, you beat me to the obligatory Ben Heck info link but I thank you for passing along the info. If the Access Controller doesn't look like it would work for you Cappraa, he also does completely custom jobs:

The price ranges here (high) seem to only reflect large scale mods and enclosures, but I do know for certain that he does custom controllers that address specific needs and designs them with the purchaser. Like I said, prices are high but who knows? I'd throw in on one for sure (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). Good luck on the mission!

I found that getting a height advantage on the tankers is the easiest way to kill them. You can peer over a ledge and hit the tops of the tanks without making them turn around.

No need to be ashamed looking for help; even with all of my fingers working I had trouble with this mission and had to retry several times. It's one of the tougher ones

The suggestions I would give have already been made. I used the Bio grenade (like the flash grenade, it will set off the tanks and not kill the little guys) and cloak to get behind them.

For the record, I actually tried your challenge and ended up spinning in circles for about 5 min. while looking up at the ceiling and being killed horribly (Xbox not PC version) . The way you play may be how you are forced to play games, but it makes you a better gamer, not worse than those without disabilities since few others would be able to play the way you do.

Unfortunately Defiance lacks the tools to communicate and integrate with others but the forum will always help.

I won't give you any advice cause all important things has been said already. I was simply jumping over them and shoot them from behind when I was still in the air but it might not be the best way to do it. :)

Sounds pretty frustrating OP. Not sure if this has been suggested, or if you are still following this far in but I have a couple ideas that might serve to improve your overall gaming experience.

http://www.emotiv.com/ looks to be one of the best things going these days. A few years ago I played around with an OCZ NIA, but it wasn't nearly as advanced as what emotiv offers. I also think the NIA have been discontinued, so not sure how available they are these days. The NIA was pretty cool. I was playing wow at the time, and I was able to make my character run, turn and jump all by making different facial gestures. I never spent enough time with it to train it to pick up my brainwaves, but I also think the sensors were lacking in that department.

Another thought would be using some kind of software to bind voice commands to key strokes. This looks like a good place to start:

I admire people like you who are strong enough to ask people for help rather than giving up. It shows pride and dedication, and also proves you are stronger than most people even if you do have a disability that prevents you from completing the mission.

If I had another alternative than those already given, I would gladly tell you it; I however don't. I hope you are able to get the mission done in some way as no one should be limited to what they can do.

Everyone! My neighbor came, I quickly taught him the game (he had never seen me play before and was a bit surprised) The pizza was ordered! Then, he slid into my chair and completed the mission within 5 minutes! A giant Woohoo was yelped by us both and I am so very thankful, very very thankful, that he was nice enough to come over and help me!!

Finally, oh and yes I laughed at his 5 minutes compared to my 7+hours!

You paid 60$ for a shooter mmo, with content updates, and its no subscription fee. even if you don't like it, it's the same as buying a single player game or console game. Grow up, and have fun with your 1 man revolution. And security means what? i'm a programmer, and i also help make games.

this is a thread with a person who has a disability and is asking for help, i too have a disability but its not really the same as hers, why you come in here and just go nuts, when she states she likes the game, is beyond me.

I just found this thread and have similar(thouhg nowhere near as serious) problem and also found completing this one hard due to movement issues- found a way to fight dirty that worked for me - but seems you do not need itx well done am not looking forward to nim though.

I have problems with this quest too, but I did not know if my problem is a bug or not. After killing the henchments in the first phase, I died in this mission, and was given to respawn Early this mission. If this mission is really this way the missions are very hard soils. I like to make them but the story is getting very discouraging and stressful. The Trion needs to urgently review the soils missions, the mission of an MMO and present challenges and create fun and not torture the players.

I guess a response/apology from Trion here is just too much effort - Great PR you are giving yourselves here guys.....
