Nolan's character is important to both worlds so while we he was introduced via the game, and you'll see him in the show - we made sure to also properly introduce key characters to the game. You might even see more cross over from the show to the game.

1. I'm holding off on getting defiance for any of the current gen consoles because of how soon the next-gen consoles will be coming. If I were to get it for current gen and then for the next-gen, (assuming its released for them) would those of us that purchased it for both systems receive anything special?

As already answered by others here (Thanks!) they will always be separate servers due to policy. That might change but it's not up to us so don't count on it.
Next-gen is just more platforms for us to be on so being there is certainly what we'd like to do.
The way our character progression is, focusing on versatility and breadth, instead of levels and classes, the "gap" should be minimal, if any.
We'll be constantly improving usability of the UI, including platform specific, there is a team constantly dedicated to UI. The PC is hurting the most right now.

Yes, all grouping issues are a high priority for us. Even our DLC strategy is driven by the principle that we don't segregate the playerbase. You should always be able to play with your friends, whether you have the DLC or not.

1. 5 DLCs are planned, they all have a free component and a paid component. Our strategy is to not segregate the playerbase whenever possible. We want you to play together. So a DLC has free components which is essentially content so everyone can play together and the paid components are more unlocking abilities or features combined with items and such. Imagine introducing a new playable species. To be able to play the species you need to buy that ability either through the store or through a DLC. To access the associated content, you don't have to pay anything.
2. Yes you will, constantly.
3. http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20130401 - you'll see it more in the future. Legally, this has to be very accomplishment driven but "fame and other" is never ruled out. Surprise me.

As it is a third person game then melee weapons would work very well in Defiance. In first person games it's not so easy and the graphics of the melee attacks , usually look stupid. So bring them on I say.Quote:
