I don't understand why anyone would quit a game then still continue to get on the forums. I seen it on other games where the person would comment something like "glad I quit the game a year ago." I just don't know what type of life that must be.

I'm going to put a ticket in on this soon but here's a little trick around the mic issue if anyone is having it. Learned this from dcuo sorry if someone's already said it. If you log on and your mic is working whenever you jest try it. So you either right away you see friends on and turn on your mic or whatever if the mic clicks on and is working others can here your golden. The trick to keep that mic working without having it shut off and have you havin to religious you must turn mic off between each loading screen. Get in a party with your buds you guys turn mics on and cha for a minute decide to do explosions 101 or something. Have everyone shut down their mic, que and enter, turn mics back on, yay there still working(they should be don't come at me with a vengeance if not, and remember to turn mics off again after you kill final boss before the loading screen to take you back to the general map. Kind of a pain but it should work always has for me.
OP I'm sorry to hear of your plight as well :(, your making me feel like I got a golden ip addresss. I have very little trouble and encounter maybe 1 to 2 bugs every 5-6 hours. I hope trion can get you back online smoothely soon. Hope the mic thing helps anyone till its fixed.

Man I know exactly what your talking about, I hate when people quit a game and just go back to the forums to just bad mouth everyone and the game. I don't get it either.

And I have a wired connection and the fastest internet comcast offers..pretty ridiculous

This was happening to me as well. It would download part of the patch and received server error.
I know it was not my connection as i had just downloaded a Vita game
Anyhow after about 7 attempts (maybe more) it finally downloaded and installed and was able to play the game.
My very first play i got wedged between rock and a piece of metal so had to let enemies kill me off as i could not move. Only other issue i have had was the last side quest i attempted in which it froze up on me :( But this game is addictive so i will still play at least until The Last Of Us comes out

No, it is because this new generatiom is all about give me more and give me perfection NOW! Instead of playing a game realizing some issues and actually reporting or trying to help fix a problem. Spoonfed overly sensitive brats.

I for one, Have not really had a whole lot of bugs. It is unfortunate if people have had them so frequently. Report the bugs and file a ticket for them as others have said, and just be patient. Also recommended would be to play another game for a week or two until some more patches are released and more problems are ironed out.

I honestly cannot wait to read more about future additions to the game. Would love to see more vehicles soon, and some more weapons! I am just really excited this is a fun game, and will continue to play this in conjunction with BF3!

I'm quitting for sure. I paid for a complete game. Instead, I get an extremely bugged game, where enemies stand in place and don't fight back and missions can't be completed. That's when I don't get a critical error preventing me from logging in for extended periods of time.

Hey, maybe it'll get better in a month or so. So many people sing the "MMOs always have hard launches" but seriously?

I'm done for now. Until this game gets some endgame content, increases group sizes, fixes its text and voice chat issues, and gives incentives to run pve and pvp alike other than for completing pursuits there is really no reason to play this game. Overall this game is worthy of a 6.5 rating on 1-10 scale, but it has potential to grow in many areas. I'll keep my eye on this game because it did grab my attention, but my attention is fading quickly to say the least. Until that time there are many other mmos and shooters alike that feel much more polished and complete to waste time playing a game that doesn't have enough content to last more than a week.

this point would be 100% valid if that wasnt one of the easiest way to get those 2500 kills for the pursuit. so its a bold (and false) assumption that everyone who does that has no idea what their doing

you sir (and everyone else who continues to complains about this) have failed

I agree, for now there is nothing to do in this game. No end game content to speak of, no desire to go kill 150 Skitterlings for a better status when the next day I have to get 100 more.

There is no drive to get better in Defiance, look im a 1474 EGO I have done a ton of things in this game to completion and after all is said and done this game is lacking, badly. PvP is ok.. but the only good map was taken away (freight yard). PvE is slow and boring, Ive done everything in this game that I can and it is lacking in the most basic desire to do more.

I come from other MMO's, Dust, DCUO, WoW, Rift and compared to all of those who had the same issues as Trion is with Defiance, at least I had a desire to keep playing. As it is now, after just 2 weeks there is nothing left to do.

PvP wont track my kills, every map it resets to the amount of the previous played match, so i can never get pvp achievements, my guns disappear, mods are repetitive and again lacking.

What game prior to this makes you want to get rid of a gun after you have fully modded and used, just to replace it with another one. Who ever came up with this was a moron..

EGO is worthless, it does nothing for you. So whats the big desire to get it up? In most if not all MMO's (sorry good MMO's) there is a cap, for DCUO and wow it was 30, to start off, but you still got better gear and weapons, more skill points for working harder.. In Defiance you feel like you are going nowhere fast..

I dont blame Trion, I blame the PR guys for forcing them to push out a Alpha product and call it full release because of the TV show, Sadly the TV show will last longer then the game at this point.

I had to do a double take at what you just said. 99% of successful mmos do in fact have endgame content. As a matter of fact, it happens to be one of the big selling points of mmos as grinding out endgame content for gear and/or currency to buy gear on its daily or weekly reset is what gives most mmos their replay value. Suffice it to say the most successful mmos do in fact have this; and defiance simply falls flat in this area.

Actually most of us are adults who have played MANY, MANY MMO's, FPS, RPG games for the last 25 years and can tell a rushed game when we see it.

Maybe its you and players like you that need to get off the fan boy wagon and wake up. Most if not all of us are not whining or QQ'ing about the game issues like VOIP, or lost items, game crashes. We all have played worse then this when playing the first couple of weeks to months of a MMO. Played DCUO from beta to 2 years in and it still has issues, but the game was at least it was fun and you had many challenging things to do.

Right now at 1474, the only things I have left to do are broken, but even the contracts and pursuits that we are supposed to be doing are so mundane and boring that there is not point in doing them.

I loved the idea of Defiance, TV show and all. But the execution of the game is lacking and badly. They want to get you to group up, but making most tasks solo... even the co-ops are boring. Ive played 2,4,8 man in DCUO a thousand times and had fun. But playing these over a few times makes me want to bore my eyes out with my controller.

Arkfalls are so common, that it takes the fun out of playing them. If they were a few times a day, they would become an actual exciting event to go play. Like Shadow wars have become as they harder to get 50 players to get into.

Maybe the worst is the guns, who was the idiot that came up with using guns as XP, you get good weapons only to have to mod them and spend resources to add slots to them if they are just going to be tossed in a day.

I and others want/wanted this game to succeed, we spent money like the rest of you. But we've seen other good and bad MMO's and unfortunately this is going to down the bad path.

Look the PS3 patch thats now almost a week late, is not helping many of us keep playing. Hard to want to do more, until it can actually work. PvP I can not get accumulative numbers to count towards goals, after every game I only see my last games stats. So even PvP that I could be playing until the patch to still have fun is so broken that I don't even want to get on. Co-op missions, commander cronkite I can't even get into since launch. So what go do the same contracts over and over again, whats that get any of us..

LOL, you're right. Logic can't beat shear stupidity and fanboy love. Look at MARKINEMPAC82S, can't even post a literate post with a reason why Defiance is good. Just threatens me to feel like a big boy. Maybe if he got to the point where we are, maybe he would realize the game falling short of what many had hoped for. The game was rushed for the TV show, not blaming Trion as much as the powers that be pushed the game to soon. Look at the most recent Dev blog he commented that he wanted more Alpha test.

Again Wonder and I want this game to succeed, we bought this game hoping to play for a long time. But we are both at the point where there is nothing we care to do. If you've played MMO's before, say like DCUO which took months of playing (prior to replay badges) to grind for 1 piece of gear then you would know we are hardcore players with real game experience, not some kid who plays COD and thinks he is a beast. Or try being a Dust player and playing the same two game modes, with no new content or changes for 8 months and still playing.

Get over the fanboy love guys, we are all fanboys to some to some degree. But we want a better game, the better question is why don't you?

We are not complaining about the minor issues with the launch of the game, most of us have been using teamspeak, Ventrillo and Skype to get around the VOIP issues. I've lost 5 rare weapons due to the modding issue, had 20+ hard restarts. Again don't even mind these little things. All MMO's have issues, the big kids know all about this.

But the game has more issues, then just that it needs to address.

Over-all I enjoyed the game and more-or-less got my money's worth.
However I'm a bit disappointed in how things are going and I haven't really played the game for 2 days now. In many ways, yes, yes I have quit. I expect I'll play it again here and there as new content is added, but something tells me these add-ons will be quite slim and only take a couple hours to complete.
I'm already looking to the future and far beyond this game. I got a few titles lined up to buy next month, I'm excited about Destiny later this year and so on. I don't see much Defiance in my future unless they pull a serious rabbit out of their hat.
I'm sure the game will smooth out and everything, that's cool. The issue really though is content, there isn't much outside of PVP to keep me around. I, like many others, was expecting a bit more MMO level content.
If any thing this game has made me consider reinstalling DCUO so I could play a more beefy MMO.

ever notice how the devs/mods CHOOSE to comment on stupid sh*t (when they actually do comment), and not like "where can i find ___" or "whats going on with you guys" its stupid sh*t like "look at the log i dropped in the toilet". while they ignore posts about potentially game breaking issues that acquire 5 pages within an hour? not even an "ill have the guys look into this" or how they CHOOSE to hold off fixes for these issues while they patch things that arent even broken?

thats my main issue with the game - support or lack thereof. bugs can be fixed, poor support usually requires a change in management to fix

My main problem with this game is i can't seem to chat in guild chat or whatever its called though i can see people logging in etc NO ONE talks in the game on general if you say anything and it's to hard to play alone nit's just got no community and everyone thinks their lone wolf on the ps3 there needs to be area voice chat so you dont have to stop and type every 2 minutes which is why i'm sure theres not many replying to area chat stuff because they can't be bothered.
Still wish i got it on the PC not ps3 now there would have been a better community on there and not people playing like a single player game mentality, this has burned me for future console mmo releases especially destiny

I love the game, but unless they fix the chat issues in the next patch then I doubt I'll stick around. Being afraid of a loading screen isn't optimal; and every time one appears, me and my friends have to restart our systems to hear one another. Other than that, the game is fine for me. I think it's a blast.

I've lost 5 rare weapons due to the modding issue, had 20+ hard restarts. Again don't even mind these little things. All MMO's have issues, the big kids know all about this.

But the game has more issues, then just that it needs to address.

Well said and when you use real money and lose it cs wont help i feel like someone stole my money.. Then never getting all my ce content and cs wont help. There are mostly only fanboys here now and new players so why we bothering? I will never trust trion again they lied in videos of stuff in game but not. They promised chat was fixed retail which was lie to. Aliens #2

I agree with most , just be patient and wait for the patches . This is why I get a good pick me up game like NBA 2k13 or Skyrim to switch to when **** hits the fan about lag and other connection problems . But overall co-op expirence has been amazing . Cant wait to see what is next for this tv show / video game has to offer

    Cheers
