its not a Pay to win game... so crying over lockboxes really doesnt hurt/ besides now you just farm weapons and break them down into salvage... so you can't make 500+ keys a day anymore... you can still make over 100+ daily

probably more... i mean if you only play the game to open the lock boxes then farm co-op and pvp they still give you 5 keys.. and co-op you have all those useless weapons you just break down for salvage to buy more keys simple... no biggy
Wondering if you are the same CaptainSlayer from Epic Judgment forums that help a lot the community. If you are the same ...i'm glad a gamer like you is part of our community.
OT - I really hate micro transactions. I miss the devs of the old days that rather rewards players for support their game with free content instead of charge for anything.

I wasn't trying to be rude in my post, sorry if you took it that way. I should of choose my words better. I was just trying to say that for an MMO to be an MMO, it needs to be online and therefore an internet service must be had as well as game servers. MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online. A game that is meant to be played online as multiplayer that supports a massive amount of players. Not sure how a massively multiplayer game would work if it wasn't online. Maybe a huge LAN or something. Of course, I too am worried that someday my game will become a paperweight. Which I know is inevitable at some point down the road. The only way we can help prolong this event is by supporting the game and playing it and letting the devs know we enjoy the game and how they can improve on it. Those that simply offer hatred say "ERRGAAGERRD IM QUITING YUR GAEM IT SUXX21121!!1" doesn't help. Devs always welcome constructive criticism though.
Again, I agree with your points and was just stating the obvious in terms of the online part of the game.
this is a free to play game.u do not pay a monthly fee.therefore .they make no money on ur continued occupation of THEIR servers.that said they offer microtransactions to make up for the ppl playing their FREE mmo
none of the items in the defiance store r required for u to have a full experience in the game.u can get al tiers of lockboxes free with ingame currency.u can earn costumes.u can level ego to aquire more inventory.buy vehicles with script
this isnt skyrim.battlefield.call of duty.or halo.u didnt pay for disk content.if u have played a mmo before u know u paid for a gateway to the game.the game in majority is on their servers.as such its.theres.not urs.them sending a email to u about the lockboxes in the store is letting ppl know about a option same may not be aware of.
we all get junkmail.this is no different.stop bashing trion.if u love this game as much as u claim to.buy a point card.some bits.spend them in the defiance store and support trions efforts to make this game great.
Sir, this is a B2P, or a buy to play.
Free to play is when you dont pay for an initial purchase.
If you have ever played any Free To Play game, this is a commonly used tactic.Quote:

Thanks.
completely off topic but:this is the first time ive seen another SC gamer on these forums (or know of anyone in the area who even play this game as most people around here are still stuck on CoD or Halo mostly with a few going to the extreme of playing only obscure or import games lol). thats suprising considering in west cola defiance copies at least WERE sold out(i havent been to a gamestop since launch). anyways good to know.
but in regards to the topic....i may be one of the very few people who actually approve of the keycode thing, simply because 1.keycodes are not only still around but are still easy to get in certain areas and 2.it limits the prevalence of legendaries and rares-which should infact be hard to get and rare. I dont support paying for lockboxes with bits, simply because id rather work for it in-game and the system is quite literally an unofficial form of gambling IMO-i would occasionally buy one or two if each level of lockbox had a standard level of rarity item to start with like 1-white to purple,2-green to orange,3-blue to orange, and 4-blue to orange with a higher chance of oranges to result. but id rather work for my lockboxes and earn an orange than there be no point in oranges even being called rare legendaries due to everyone, myself included, being able to spam a lockbox until the oranges become common because it would eventually break the rarity system.
i WILL say, however, that since this change has already been put into place that trion really needs to make the guns have more power and uniqueness as their model will backfire in the long run if these weapons dont both look cooler(face it its the most important unimportant feature in having rare weapons=people want cool looking things to have and show off) and have a significant difference based on the rarity and effort needed to get them.
