As for the side mission, meh. They are lacking yes, an appropriate name would have been "side tasks" but they get a lil stale....I can admit.

I've just got done following up on many of the Reviews for the game. Since DEFIANCE was first publicly announced I have followed everything DEFIANCE. I both Alpha Tested and Beta Tested both PC & PS3.
I've been testing MMO's for nearly 10 years now. None of them were perfect because MMO's are never finished until their closed. For the past few years (I've lost count) Just about Every MMO seems to take from WoW. Got to the point that a new game would come out and people would bash it for being a WoW Clone. Then again I've seen games try to be different and get bashed for Not being a WoW clone. DEFIANCE is one that clearly isn't. I've found most of the things people complain about to be very trival and fixable. Most come to a game and judge it on what it is in that moment and make snap decisions. While if they really wanted the game to be better they look at realistic fixes.
For Example.
1. One of the things they sited was that the games Intro does a poor job setting up the games setting. simple fix stick this video in the game when you go to create a character just before the current In game Intro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=0oQlOD4pnkQ
2. Chat is a nightmare thats for sure. only 1 line of text visible. This has caused me to get caught off guard because I missed "server coming down" notices (make server notices a Fly text)
3. Lack of Social Area meeting Hub. I would suggest perhaps expanding the Crater where we could sit around and chat while waiting for a nice Arkfall.
as for the complaints about the side quest I don't really have any (being a Tester for so many years I've seen worse.) Would be nice to have more Character interaction with the mission givers at least get some new Voice work in so they can address the actual Side quest and not just repeat the same lines for everyone.
As for the phase issuse. From the looks of it that is a double edge sword.(At least by my limited understanding of what the Phases are doing. Looks to me like DEFIANCE is doing something with them that I badly tried to get another MMO to do.) Are the phases we're in ones that show how we changed the world around us and to change phases to team up with a friend. take us to a phase we haven't done some of these things yet (Such as the Mono at the Golden Gate)?
