I've muted everyone. In all the years I've been gaming I can can't think of a single important thing anyone has said during a game. More often than not it's some foul mouthed drunk who thinks he's God's gift to gaming and women, or some anal armchair general who thinks he's going to direct everyone. I muted area chat because it's annoying
The only people I want to talk to are on TS or Vent already.
Never had a problem with it but today someone left their kinect chat on and all I could hear during the arkfall was spanish some slapping a lot of screaming and silence other than the kinect repeating everything happening on the screen annoyingly. It would be nice to have a way to tell who's talking so I can properly xbox mute them on console. I even have all voice chat muted and it came through. They really do have a lot more to worry about though. I wouldn't stress this issue to much.
I should act like a dbag and just scream at the top of my lungs and no one will know it's me.

Usually it's only annoying when idiots have a mic and speakers, and we get to listen to their boring *** "life" as we blow them up. And hear them whine when we point out no one gives a crap about whatever pointless junk that is currently going on that prevents them from finding a razor to improve theirself.
Though one funny thing is some idiot got killed by me, used 2 insulting names, and repeated on the 3rd. I finally turned mic on to throw off a long-wined insult that spanned many different parts of a dictionary, while asking the stupid kid to at least be creative if they are going to insult. Luckily they shut up after that, but sadly I believe it was more due to them not expecting the person they were insulting to having a mic, than them actually having a set.
Would be nice to have an option for "can only join if you don't blow your dad for allowance and rent money" option for pvp.
EDIT: Though if I run into some moron with always on mic highlighting the reasons they shouldn't stay alive, i put my mic in between my headset speaker while it's off my head and turn hot mic on. Let them suffer the same fate they subject everyone else to.
