Fix the Challenger motor

Who CARES about how it sounds? They should probably make it DRIVE like a muscle car before making it SOUND like a muscle car.

No you're not and every change at this point in the development lifecycle takes quite a bit of time.

No not every change takes a lot of time. Art and audio assets are the easiest to change. They always have been. There's barely anything to test when adjusting art and audio assets and as long as naming structure is kept there is zero coding changes. Only coding changes necessary is of the audio loops duration is changed and they're using precision timing for when the audio stops/starts, but we're not talking about that kind of change.. it's a matter of pitch mostly.. as if they took the sound of the challenger and ramped the pitch up pointlessly.

It's hilarious that anytime someone says they're XYZ profession on the internet there is always someone there to discredit them with nothing.. how is anyone in the industry ever able to formulate an opinion on a subject in the industry with such nonsense. I'm glad you know me personally enough to say I'm not XYZ though phantom internet user! You must be a magician of some sorts, I believe it.

The charger does need some deeper vocal chords. Also the orange Dodge Hemi sounds closer to the real one. Nowhere near the amount of high pitched white noise of the Chargers.

To be honest I use the Hemi, to avoid the brain bleaching white noise of the Charger.

(My hubby has the Charger and we tried to both run around in our cars, nearly made the dogs run away from home!)

Is it possible that it was recorded from live but somehow sounds different on some surround or pc speakers?

It is the loudest most abrasive noise in the game, even possibly tuning it down a notch or two (think muffler) would help some of us not go crazy. :cool: Just an observation and a suggestion <3

Thanks for missing the point entirely. You and Foltheon just don't get it. It isn't a matter of how hard or how easy it is to fix something as silly as the sound of a vehicle in game. It is a matter of the resources needed to make the change.

The game has moved from the development phase into the maintenance phase and that means they don't have as many people currently working on it. So for every silly request like this that people make that would mean another issue would have to take a back seat while they work it.

My point is that i want them to fix the real issues before working on the fluff. Once they get those done then have at it, feel free to make silly sound file changes for a fake vehicle that has no real tie to an actual vehicle at all other than name alone.

You are correct in that they take the least amount of time. However, in a software's lifecycle, correcting *any* bug post release is a huge amount of time compared to any point prior. Even small changes can easily eat up $1000 or more of man time. This is actually something you learn in school as a developer and is a required class in most CS programs.

As for the actual note of the engine, it's fine as is. These engines aren't standard 91 octane gas guzzlers with stock exhausts so they are going to sound different. My guess is the recording was done with a non-stock exhaust for this exact effect (if they used the car at all).

I thought it sounded like crap too, but then I put myself in the mindset of the show.
This car probably doesn't run on what we expect it too. These run off a different fuel and probably different engines.
They are just using dodge bodies. The engines would sound different.
Only gap in this theory...they refer to it as a hemi. I guess maybe its a NEW hemi.

I don't mind it though. I prefer my dune buggy roller :)

Did they put a lawnmower engine in it or what? :D
